That Philadelphia, one of the cradles of American history and culture, should find itself, well, falling is no surprise.
Does the fact that the city is the murder capital of the USA with a rough ratio of one homicide per day have anything to do with it?
Does the fact that the high school graduation rate in Philadelphia is only 55.5% have anything to do with it?
Does the fact that an estimated 25% of city residents possess a high school diploma have anything to do with it?
Does the fact that those with the means are moving to the suburbs have anything to do with it?
Does the fact that Philly is not generating enough high paying jobs to keep its residents out of functional poverty have anything to do with it?
Does the fact that city planners include ice skating rinks, but no mention of poverty-stricken schools, in its master plan have anything to do with it?
Perhaps.....
