The Universal Language of War and Death
By Kevin Tully
Thinking about War and Death on Memorial Day
::::::::
"Huitzilopochtli lay deep below the still death fragrant ruins of Tenochtitlan.
"The Espanoles, pinche Coyotl, and that bastard Cortes blundered into my beautiful...the splendid sanctuary of skulls and sacred offal of my pretties -- the darling Mexica listened to me, danced for me, devoured for me!" shouted Huitzilopochtli, the creatures of the underworld clapping and confused. Corteslay close by, picking lice from his beard, whispering "You know he's kidding, right?"
The pleasantly fetid hall buzzed with the polyglot chatter of innumerable warriors. How were they able to understand the words of so many, from so many different places?
Conquistador Pedro de Alvarado conversed with Colonel JohnChivington . Colonel Juan, as Pedro called him, was yet holding a dried, wormy scalp. Sitting at a rusty cafe' table nearby was Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring,the slight chair sagging and pained under his immense buttocks. Hermann was wildly gesticulating in a heated conversation with the lively, equally corpulent Mongol, Kublai Khan. Dickie Speed, an opportunistic American and charter member of the NRA, passed among the martial horde offering to oil pistols or sharpen daggers, scimitars and bayonets.
General Nathan Bedford Forrestand, the very popular Japanese Officers, Toshiaki Mukai and Tsuyoshi Nodaabruptly ended their bridge foursome with General Westmorelandand went to paint the wonderfully hideous toenails of, impatient and farting, Huitzilopochtli. It was Wednesday..." From "Wednesday With Huitzilopochtli" By Franklin Cincinnatus
