There is an evil afoot in the hometown of President Lyndon Baines Johnson.   It is manifested in the ugly, idiotic, juvenile, foul reconstruction of an old pick-up truck. The builder and chauffer of this racist, hate speech ridden wagon is a piggy little man.   He boldly and with great relish drives his anti-Obama pick-up around town, parking it prominently in front of restaurants and stores.  

Yesterday my lady friend and I set out to have lunch at a local taqueria and there it was, parked parallel to hwy 281 -- a major highway that runs through town.   The sight of it disgusts and angers me on so many levels.   We entered the restaurant and I voiced my displeasure to our waitress in Spanish.   The owner of the truck, who I wouldn't know on sight, was seated nearby and evidently understood Spanish.   He confronted me and I, unfortunately, could not control my disgust with the pathetic little man and his anti-Obama pick-up truck; I, unfortunately, in Spanish, called him a very descriptive pejorative.   He responded by declaring to us, "...you people, you're trailer trash."   He went on to say that he had a lot of support in Johnson City and that "a lot of attorneys" agreed with him.   My lunch guest, also "trailer trash" is a prominent business owner in Johnson City.   He had crossed a line from just being a racist, ignorant bigot to being an enemy of Johnson City's and mine.  

Johnson City is the hometown of President Lyndon Baines Johnson and whether you like or dislike him or agree or disagree with his policies and politics -- he did sign the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Act into law.   This legislation was big.   It changed the lives of millions of people and changed the country for the better and this racist fool is driving around Johnson City ostensibly with the approval of many of its residents?   I think this is illustrative of the seeming depravity of a people and a party that have allowed themselves to be highjacked by bigots, racists and thugs.   It is time for good people to fight back.   It is time to expose and confront these un-American, socially stunted, storm troopers.   I am now embarrassed and ashamed that I have just walked past such displays over the last couple of years -- no more!

Johnson City should be ashamed and humiliated that it has allowed this grotesque individual and his truck to ride the roads here without significant push back.   This town ,by our silence, have enabled and validated this bad man.  

This is obviously a free speech issue.   I'll let you make up your own mind as to what kind of speech this is:   the hood ornament on this truck is a clay chia seed Obama head (it requires very little imagination to understand the intended statement) and there is a doctored photo of three chimps sitting next to a chimp with President Obama's face superimposed on it and the caption addresses the President's birth certificate issue.
