A homeless veteran friend of mine died yesterday....

By Bill Wetzel

Yesterday, on Veteran's Day, a homeless veteran friend of the author passed away.

::::::::

I wrote about the passing of Tom Dalmer, an Air Force vet and a homeless friend of mine yesterday on my blog and for my DU journal. The whole story is at the link. I would like to add that yesterday many politicians released trite, emotive statements about the troops. Everybody professes their love for the troops, but how many truly care about a man like Tom and the countless others who literally live in the dirt. Who suffer and die in obscurity? I imagine very few. I hope that changes.  -Bill
