I too had the audacity to dream....

By Raphael Sidelman

This is a little food for thought regarding the ever expanding gap between what is and what should be.

::::::::

I once had a dream.

I once dreamed that it was the norm for every citizen to receive enough of a proper education to be truly educated about their constitutional rights, and the rights of all their fellow citizens.

I dreamed each citizen would demand that the FCC revoke the broadcast license of any television stations that did not report daily, in detail, what our lawmakers were trying to enact, and whether or not such efforts were being unfairly influenced by private interests.

I dreamed that all citizens would be attentive enough to know when certain corporations were trying to monopolize a certain industry, and to effectively demand that their government make sure that it did not happen; especially in regard to the industries related to news information and food production.

I dreamed that each citizen was properly informed about the actuality of their monetary system, which would prevent a private cartel known as the Federal Reserve, from legally controlling our nation's money supply and its valuation. I dreamed that such a cartel and their strong-arm collection agency known as the IRS, would have been driven out to sea by the progeny of those who had done the same hundreds of years earlier in an epic battle for Freedom from all tyranny.

I dreamed that the citizens would effectively demand of their representatives that the "Supreme Law" of the land be the guide and guardrail of all legislation. For whether it be in regard to religion, taxation, due process of law, ownership of land and or other tangible items, forced medication, corporate fascism, the right to keep and bear arms, the right to healthy food and clean air and water, personal relationships, etc... such citizens and their elected representatives would be consciously aware of the fact that governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed; and they would all make it their daily business to be involved in the decisions that would surely affect them and their children.

I dreamed that.

I dreamed that each citizen was acting in positive accordance with the farewell address of a former President and decorated General, who warned of the dangers of the military industrial complex; and so the budget for the department of defense was meager in comparison to the budgets for education, infrastructure and unbiased medical research.

I dreamed that technologies whose discovery was enabled by way of public funding would not ever be transferred to private companies who would then profit from the public that had already paid for it.

I dreamed that by their fourteenth birthday, each citizen had the ability to read and comprehend newspaper articles that were written on an eighth grade reading level, and that all adults were more interested in conversing about the details and ramifications of a new bill being passed in congress, than they were in talking about the score of a recent sporting event, or which new style of hat or sneaker they thought might best represent them. I dreamed that.

I dreamed that the voices of dedicated patriots whose constant vigilance resulted in timely, informed warnings regarding any infringement of our rights were revered and eagerly awaited, by even greater numbers of people than that of an "A list" movie star or music icons and athletes.

I dreamed that the concepts of self-sufficiency and community were not viewed as mutually exclusive, but rather as respected, complimentary ideals toward which all citizens aspired.

I dreamed that such educated citizens would always favor and demand government actions which were based upon the concept of sustainability, rather than instant gratification.

I dreamed all of this and much, much more, in like kind.

Unfortunately I am currently awake in a world whose actuality is the exact opposite of that which I have dreamed...

So what I must also do is continue to refine the techniques that will eventually lead to the fruition of such dreams.
I must find a way to bring all concerned parties together in a united voice that will not be ignored; and I must find a way to interest those who are not yet concerned, so that they will become not only aware of the atrocities being inflicted on our Constitutional rights, but active in the defense of justice.
I must do this because, although there are others who do much more than I in regard to such things, reliance upon their efforts to fix the problems does not fulfill the intrinsic, personal responsibility that each of us has to the ongoing causes of Freedom and Justice; as a matter of fact, the breeding of such inaction has historically been a key element in the success of those who would undermine the best interests of all people.
I will keep dreaming. I will keep doing whatever I can.

Authors Bio:
I strive to embody the concepts that I believe in. I strive to continually question what I believe in, and to continue investigating new ideas.

I own a website that sells original T-shirts that I think up and design. The designs and their product descriptions are what I call my "musings from the outskirts of insanity". The name of the website is DreadedThread.com. It is being remodeled and should be done soon. You can still check it out to get a basic idea in the meantime though.

I recently put up another website called
SimplyAmericanPride.org, where I present a document I have written in the name of the people of The United States of America, in an attempt to contribute positively to the ongoing struggle for freedom that has been losing ground in the United States for quite some time.

I have written books on philosophy/self help, one of which I had published, entitled "The Way to The Way"; others are on the way to becoming available to the public. I intend to publish soon, a collection of hundreds of original aphorisms that I have come up with and have titled "Think about it". I'll include some at the bottom of this introduction.

I'm a licensed massage therapist, I graduated cooking school, I'm single, etc... I encourage all feedback!

Here a a few of the quotes from "Think about it":

The term "paying attention" is a misnomer; lack of attention is what costs us.

Luck favors those who best know the terrain, yet its greatest devotees are always those with no map.

"Luck" is our way of admitting our limitations without having to recognize them.

There's a damned good reason talk is cheap... It's the only thing most of us produce, and its production is incessant.

The difference between lazy and content is that content didn't wait for someone else to set up the hammock.

We are what we think and believe, so take your pick: Impossible/I'm possible.

Show me something impossible and I'll show you what is imperceptible without a different wavelength of light.

Remember, an obstacle for one is a gateway for another.

Show me a want disguised as a need and I'll show you an expensive outfit.

Only when there exists a passionate belief in what one is doing, does hard work transcend itself and become its own reward.

A healthy society is an incubator of ideas, not the echo chamber of slogans.

Surely, no more than a minute after the meek inherit the earth, someone's going to contest the will.

Money invites power, but disseminated ideas are the currency that retains it.

Boondoggle? You have to wonder how much doggling there'd be without someone thinking it a boon.

Universally, the amount of space we think we need is directly related to what we perceive to be at the edge of that perceived space.

Don't ever feel weak or inadequate because of your desire to hear a kind word; it is the sustenance of the gods.

Money, class, and intelligence are as intimately linked as are seagulls and fitted sheets.

Make no mistake; Sloth is Greed, without direction, uninspired.

Who dares open the lock must admit they are the tumbler.

Opportunity does not stand on ceremony; if you can't get to the door, open a window.

Wisdom is the bridge that connects knowledge to understanding; it is constructed only through the constant evolution of applied learning.

Generally speaking, trial and error consists of ten percent trial, ninety percent error.

The ability to perceive of beauty is limited only by our inability to realize the complexity of the relationships involved in even the seemingly simple.

The tendrils of past perceptions and their intertwined manifestations are my consciousness.

I think that's enough for now. There are hundreds more where that sampling came from. Feel free to share them, I just ask that you please give me credit for them. They are all copyrighted.
