Are Republican Right Wingers as Dangerous as the Swine Flu?

By Perry Stein

"a call to arms". We need as a people to take action to assure that we have an HHS Secretary during the Swine Flu Crisis and beyond.

::::::::

The Republican Right Wing is dangerous to our country's health and welfare and they need to be stopped.  Why?  Because of their actions, during the outbreak of what could be the most important epidemic of our generation, we do not have a confirmed Secretary of Health and Human Services.

That's right our dedicated obstructionists up on Capitol Hill have done everything in their power to keep President Obama's designee Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius from being confirmed and assuming the office of HHS Secretary.  Vote after vote has been delayed, and now as the country is faced with the swine flu emergency the chief Federal point position dealing with this crisis is unfilled and vacant.

Why?  Well according to published reports,  in her role as Governor, Sebelius has refused to sign legislation that would block abortion even if the abortion would save the mother's life.  Well!  Apparently the unborn must be saved but the lives of literally millions of actually living people who might be at risk during the Swine Flu outbreak, they're just not that important to our Neanderthal right wing.

What to do? Reports indicate that the full Senate is scheduled to vote on Sebelius' nomination this Tuesday.  But we've seen these reports before and they've been followed by inaction.

We the people must demand that Governor Sebelius be confirmed immediately, our lives could be in the balance.
