Burma, Myanmar: The last 9 prominent 88 leaders sentenced to 65 years each

Today Maubin Township's court sentenced the last 9 prominent 88 student leaders to 65 years imprisonment each. They are : Min Ko Naing, Ko Ko Gyi, Hla Myo Naung, Htay Kywe, Mya Aye, Nyan Linn, Phyone Cho, Aung Thu and Aung Naing. Some of these them were arrested in August 2007 for protesting against fuel high price , and some were arrested after Saffron Revolution led by the Buddhist monks.

The 9 leaders were sentenced to six months imprisoment on October 29, and transferred to Maubin prison.
Last Tuesday their 14 colleagues have also been sentened to 65 years each. The 88 students list is now closed.
