CNN Is Presenting A "Fox Style" Assessment Of The Obama/McCain Race

By William Cormier

CNN appears to be favoring McCain's bid at the Presidency, and their reporting is starting to resemble that of Fox News. CEO's are afraid of an Obama Presidency. Right-wing conservatives are sinking to new lows, even attempting to incite racial tensions within the United States.

::::::::

Yesterday evening, before the debate and a dinner engagement I had, I tuned into CNN’sPrime News” to get a feel for the debate that I would eventually miss. As usual, two pundits of the so-called “best political team in America” were discussing the previous debates and what needed to be fielded in last night’s debate.

In fair and balanced reporting, one pundit usually represents the Democratic Candidate and the other analyzes the Republican Candidate - and both usually have opinions slanted for their particular candidate. The public is supposedly shown the interpretive argument and talking points of the two candidates. Last night was different, and if one of the pundits was representing the Democratic point of view - it didn’t show and was generally a session of attempting to provide rationale for McCain’s previous behavior, and what he needed to do in this debate to change his sagging poll numbers. Whether either candidate decided to ramp-up the negativity in the upcoming debate, it wasn’t needed. CNN made sure that Ayers and the allegation(s) in regard ACORN were well known before the debate began as they participated in a “fair and balanced” discussion that was neither. It was an Obama slug fest, carefully orchestrated by CNN to prime the public for what they appeared to know what was coming, more negativity and leaving the real issues on the sidelines.

I switched the channel and tuned-in the Situation Room and was pleased to see Wolf Blitzer interviewing Donald Trump, who appeared to surprise Wolf Blitzer when he stated that Bush should have been impeached for leading us into a fraudulent war. Blitzer attempted to leap to the administration’s defense and stated they had received bad intelligence - which Donald Trump very clearly stated he believed was a downright lie. The theme of Trump’s rhetoric was that Bush lied and people died - and he compared Bill Clinton’s sexual encounter as minute when we take into consideration the breadth of the crimes President Bush has perpetrated upon the nation - and Trump stated clearly that it would be good for the nation if Bush was impeached.. Wolf Blitzer is a former AIPAC Lobbyist, and for me, the best part of the interview was watching a wide-eyed Blitzer get hammered with truth and facts about this President that too many people are hesitant to point-out on national television. In fact, Donald Trump, who is well respected in the United States, stood-up for his beliefs and obviously shocked CNN as well as those who had invited him to be interviewed on the Situation Room - and the shock on Blitzer’s wide-eyed face was priceless.

Understanding the Mainstream News Medias support of McCain is easy. A recent report stated that “74% of CEOs Believe Obama Would Be Disastrous for the Nation.” Seventy-four percent is a staggering figure, and when you understand the bulk of corporate America is against Obama, it then is easy to understand why the “Corporate Media” is doing their best to slant their coverage to favor McCain:

74% of CEOs Believe Obama Would Be Disastrous for the Nation

By Noel Sheppard

With the nation in the middle of what is being regularly reported as the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, a new poll found that 74 percent of America’s top business leaders fear “an Obama presidency would be disastrous for the country.”

Don’t be surprised if you didn’t hear about this, for virtually no major mainstream press outlet felt it was important to share with the public.

Do you think Obama-loving media would be so apathetic if this poll found an overwhelming majority of business leaders were scared about what a McCain presidency would do to the economy?

Despite the answer, our supposedly impartial press seem totally disinterested in Chief Executive magazine’s just-released survey which found some CEOs worried that if implemented “[Obama's] programs would bankrupt the country within three years” MUCH MORE

I imagine the CEO’s are fearful of an Obama Presidency; we’ve literally paid out hundreds of millions of dollars in compensation to CEO’s who have overseen the destruction of their own companies and contributed to the economic crisis we now face, and they know that under an Obama Presidency, that practice will be halted. I think that Wall Street and several of America’s banks are unnerved at the prospect of making money the old fashioned way - by working and amassing profits through responsible business practices that will be judged on their performance, and if they lose, will not walk away being paid with ridiculous “Golden Parachutes” for essentially overseeing a company’s downfall.

You can tell the right-wing conservatives and Neo-conservatives are panicking, and in doing do, are inadvertently demonstrating to the United States how vile and hateful they are. Instead of focusing on the issues that pose a struggling economy for years to come, the hate purveyors are working full time to rile-up the uneducated and fearful within our nation. Rush Limbaugh, in a rant I haven’t read since the days of George Wallace and the beginning of the civil right’s era, attacked blacks in what can only be described as hate speech, and in my opinion, the type of rhetoric that eventually leads to violence:

Rush Limbaugh Says Angry Blacks Are In 30 Year Plot To Train Black Children as Militants | Crooks and Liars

By John Amato Tuesday Oct 14, 2008 5:20pm

Limbaugh: We know that technological advancement is going along at light speed. And yet during this period of time, whether it be the last 57 years or be it the last 20 years, it seems that a majority of the black population has remained angry, frustrated, and behind. They’ve been left behind. They are acting like they’ve been left behind, and of course we’ve heard that this is because of racism, natural systemic institutional racism in America, that we are unfair, that this country is just horrible and rotten.

…The federal government became the father. The father didn’t have to hang around in order for the kids to be okay, depending on how you define okay. But as you study more and more of this ACORN stuff, you find that it has been part of an entire movement that has been going on for two, maybe three decades, right under our noses.

We thought that it was just liberal welfare policies and all that that kept blacks from progressing while other minorities grew and prospered, but no, it is these wackos from Bill Ayers to Jeremiah Wright to other anti-American Afrocentric black liberation theologists with ACORN, and Barack Obama is smack dab in the middle of it, they have been training young black kids to hate, hate, hate this country, and they trained their parents before that to hate, hate, hate this country. It was a movement. It was a Bill Ayers, anti-capitalist, anti-American educational movement. ACORN is how it was implemented, right under our noses.
It has been a movement, it has been a religion, and Obama and Jeremiah Wright and William Ayers were all up to their big ears in it.

A C&Ler emailed and said:

They’re desperate. And they can’t say it themselves, so they hire people who can. Rush, in this particular break, had just finished with a nice chat with the person who accused Barack Obama of “pallin’ around with terrorists.” And he went from that conversation … to his little theory about Black Madrassas out to rise up and kill us all. Does it get any sicker? I’m afraid it might with them.

The influence of right wing hate radio has never been more evident than what we have been witnessing now. And it will get worse, much worse. These talkies like Limbaugh are giving their listeners permission to engage in violent acts. It’s out in the open, on display right before our eyes. MORE

I’m fifty-seven years old and have lived in the deep south for most of my adult life. His comments angered me, and I’m unable to comprehend how those comments will sit with black America. I’d be insulted, angry, and offended that hate speech is still allowed and wild accusations are given credence by those who fear an Obama Presidency would somehow differ from that of a white President. Do those that fear Obama expect him to issue a proclamation that white people are now slaves? Or perhaps those that believe he is a Muslim masquerading as a Christian expect him to invite Osama Bin Laden over to the US to serve on his cabinet… What irrational fear do people possess when it pertains to a black man being elected as President of the United States?

Rush Limbaugh represents the past and an era that many of us believed was a matter of history - not the current mindset of the mass of the US population. In fact, I don’t believe it’s the mass, but the fringe of American society that are still ruled by their past prejudices and fear. Limbaugh and those of his ilk prey on the uneducated and people who live in constant fear - a trait that a new study suggests why conservatives are more prone to scare tactics; in simple terms they scare more easily than Liberals. I wish those die-hard Neo-conservatives and right-ring conservatives would open their eyes and examine their own savings and financial health at this moment in our history. Almost everyone is driving less, and our economy is already “bankrupt” in the actual definition of the term. We exist through foreign loans and selling off America bit by bit, and the harsh reality is that we’re an economic hostage to those who are continuing to prop-up our government.

This is a time when the nation needs to set aside the fear and hate mongers who are attempting to turn this Presidential race into something it’s not. Strong condemnations by America’s Liberal and Progressives should attack this obvious attempt to inflame racial hatred, and whites should be just as offended as blacks. This is an attempt to take our eyes off the ball and respond to someone’s paranoia and bigotry - which has nothing to do about the real issues and the direction that many of us who seek change wish to proceed in. There will always be some who will stew in racial hatred, stirred-up by the likes of Limbaugh and others who would prefer to see something happen that would allow Bush to declare martial law and cancel the elections. Rather than acquiescing to the will of the people, Limbaugh attempts to change those who are unfortunate enough to hear his hatred and constant fear mongering. What we are actually hearing is the desperation of a party that is in shambles and now appears willing to incite violence to further their corrupt agenda. “We the people” have to be smart enough to understand that these are desperate measures by desperate people, and they might even turn up the hate rhetoric, hoping to spark anything that will cause more fear and uncertainty among conservatives, many who are leaning toward Obama.

I usually stay away from Presidential politics, however in the upcoming race, to me, it’s too easy to call. No matter which candidate is elected, the winner has an enormous job ahead of him. The stress and activity needed to match the crisis requires someone that is of sound mind and body, and right now, we’re in trouble on multiple fronts. Who of the two is the most fit for duty and offers a real change to America? If McCain, who is of questionable health is elected, who is to say the continuous strain of the Presidency won’t take its toll on McCain, allowing Palin to ascend to the Presidency? The act of choosing an empty suit that will be a heartbeat from the Presidency should be an insult to any American that understands exactly who and what Sarah Palin represents; she is a fundamentalist right-wing Christian that faces her own ethics problems in Alaska, and remember “Darth Vader”, who has the worst public image of any politician in Washington? Palin has some characteristics that could easily equate to Palin representing Dick Cheney in a dress if the opportunity should ever present itself. To those that believe experience is a prerequisite for the Presidency, Palin has none.

On the other hand, if McCain lasted four years as President, he would have to compensate for his memory issues and fend-off the irritability that can come with the strain of the job, and with McCain’s legendary temper and questionable health, it’s a combination that doesn’t bode well for the nation’ future. We don’t need a replay of “Grumpy Old Men” in the White House, so that only leaves one candidate, Barrack Obama, and while he’s not who I originally favored, by comparison to McCain/Palin, the Obama/Biden ticket is the only one which represents any kind of hope for America.

My Bio is as varied as my life. In 2012, my twin sons murdered a Journalist in Pensacola, Fl., for 100K worth of "Magic The Gathering" playing cards and buried the body in my backyard. I was once a regular writer here, but PTSD from my son's actions took their toll. First, I lost everything I had. Second, I lost my fiancee. Third, I almost lost my life. Recovery has been a hard and lonesome road, and it isn't quite over yet. I will overcome this disaster as I have others, and return to college to resume my quest to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism.

Admittedly, I have chosen to get back in the mix and do my duty to help destroy any chance that Trump may have of being elected to a second term.
