Financial Melt-down, the Keystone Cops and the Wolves

By Michael McCoy

Now, with the October surprise coming early, this is not the time to think, believe or hope that this criminal cabal has written the final chapter in the most disasterous administration in US history. Just like the so called surprise on 911 and the surprise of the current financial melt-down, with the Keysone Cops minding the store and nearly four months remaining, it's best to brace for the worst.

::::::::

Just about the time that many Americans were breathing a sigh of relief, confident that the Bush administration was taking it's last gasps, we find that this criminal cabal has at least one more disasterous chapter to write for American history - and yet another catastrophe to heap upon the American people.

First, with a steady stream of warnings over an eight month period of time, many of them urgent, some of them unprecedented and even specific, the attacks of 911 caused New York and the Pentagon to burn while Bush fiddled in a Florida classroom. The Keystone Cops made their debut with obfuscation, apologies and an absurd version of events that challanges the reasoning of an eigth grader.

The event changed the world. The 'official version', (apology/excuse/story), remains a myth that is weaving it's way into American mythology and has been declared poison to any mainstream media.

Following the attacks, with a deliberate conspiracy of manufactured evidence and outright lies, Bush and his assorted mouthpieces spread the alarms about dangerous weapons in Iraq, an immediate threat of an attack and a connection between Iraq and the terrorist murderers that carried out the 911 attacks. None was true as the evidence clearly demonstrates, and Bush and his cohorts knew it.  But the invasion and occupation of Iraq, touted as being a cakewalk and likely to last three months hasn't at all. Equally absurd, is the widely touted price tag of two, perhaps three billion dollars.

The war in Iraq will soon enter it's sixth year - and is nearing a cost of a thousand billion dollars, so far.

Then, as the war wounded began to return from that illegally instigated disaster, the mechanism here at home to address this pain and suffering, often from life changing injuries, was woefully lacking. Countless military wounded received substandard care, many were charged for the care they received. And 4,167 Americans have died so far in that man made disaster.

A level-headed assessment of a variety of watch groups puts the Iraqi civilian death toll at over one million.

When Hurricane Katrina began to threaten the southern coast of the US, the Bush administration assured Americans that preparations were well under way, and all contingencies were well in hand. After the natural disaster of widespread destruction followed yet another man-made catastrophe - immense ineptitude and malfeasance. As it turns out, 'Brownie' wasn't doing such a fine job afterall.

Over 1,500 Americans died and the city of New Orleans remains a shell of it's former self.

The United States military may capture, imprison indefinately and deny due process to any person deemed an 'enemy combatant', regardless of nationality, from anywhere on Earth, without formal charges and without the accused's access to legal council.

Countless high-profile 'arrests' and interrogations are touted proudly on the front page of mainstream media, while an equal number of releases are relegated to the rear pages.

In direct violation of numerous, longstanding Geneva Convention agreements, America now officially endorses and conducts torture against our enemies, whether real or suspected. In conducting torturous interrogations, should the 'suspect' die, there is no mechanism of accountability in place.

With underhandedness, secrecy and a clear disdain of democratic processes, this administration saw to it that a number of Federal prosecutors were illegally fired for refusing to pursue indictments against Bush administration foes, based on thin or manufactured evidence. The vice president's chief of staff is convicted for lying to Federal prosecutors in the outing of a career CIA agent - the wife of another Bush detractor that soundly challanged one of the foundations for war in Iraq - an alleged connection between Iraq and Niger.

Bush granted him a pardon before Libby saw the inside of a jail cell.

The American Constitution and Bill of Rights has been deemed as outdated and hinderances to the "war on terror".  In their objections, key watch groups have been ignored in the mainstream press and the American public has clearly demonstrated a disturbing ambivalence.

The mainstream media, either through a subverted sense of patriotism or through outright programs of duress, have become the official outlet of government propaganda.  The meaningful, necessary role of a free press in a democracy has been lost.

Now, a finacial train wreck of unprecedented scope has 'crept up', seemingly out of the blue, and threatens complete economic collapse in the United States - possibly, even the world. Once again, as if historic red ink from an illegal war wasn't enough, our children and grandchildren have their futures further mortgaged with crushing debt that is difficult to fathom.

We are to believe that it was all a surprise, much like the 911 attacks, I suppose, with the Keystone Cops minding the store.

Those with a meaningful grasp of history, that large, man made events do not happen by accident, will understand that the dark forces that lurk behind the curtain have undoubtedly orchestrated this financial melt down. The long history and profound results of Pentagon "funny math", the trickery of the IRS, the immense military industry and no-bid contracts just don't seem to be enough for our secretive, self-appointed masters.

Make no mistake. This is no time for counting blessings, summing up our disasters or breathing a long-deserved sigh of relief. The Bush led mechanisms of power have wrought a littany of unprecedented debacles upon our republic, and with the October surprise coming earier than planned, this criminal band of shameless, underhanded criminals have 118 days remaining.

Use your imagination.
