Student Voting 101: the "How-To" and "Who-Is" on Voice of the Voters 9/24/08

The Brennan Center's recently-released guide provides student voters with information on voting residency,registration,identification,and absentee balloting requirements on a state-by-state basis.We will discuss: Are certain states friendlier than others towards student registration and voting?    * What are student attitudes towards voting -and why? How are
concerns over electronic voting impacting students?

Jennifer S. Rosenberg, www.brennancenter.org is a Fellow in the
Democracy Program Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law and
was extensively involved in the preparation of The Guide, accessible online
at www.brennancenter.org/studentvoting.

Sara Haile-Mariam, an undergraduate student and political activist at NYU,
has been a guest on Voice of the Voters addressing issues related to the
youth vote. She is a frequent speaker at rallies and other forums and has
been active in voter registration drives in several states and campuses.
