Let Loose the Dogs of War
By JC Garrett
Obama has been accused of infanticide and called a baby killer by so many despicable Republican pundits that it is amazing anyone would be dismayed or outraged by the Sarah Palin fake pregnancy story. FOX and far-right extremists have uncorked the bottle, and now it is no-holds-barred, full-scale total war. It is time for us to loose the dogs of war.

"Cry Havoc, and let loose the dogs of war" -- Shakespeare
Barack Obama's campaign manager, David Plouffe, wasted no time in attempting to rally Obama supporters to respond to the vicious attacks by the foaming-at-the-mouth rabid dogs who treated us to non-stop sarcasm, condescension, and juvenile insults at the Republican convention last night. His email to supporters took issue with the speakers' attempts to demean and discount Obama's achievements, and even snobbishly suggested that the job of community organizers is somehow undignified, worthless, and beneath a "real" public servant.
"I saw John McCain's attack squad of negative, cynical politicians. They lied about Barack Obama and Joe Biden, and they attacked you for being a part of this campaign.
But worst of all -- and this deserves to be noted -- they insulted the very idea that ordinary people have a role to play in our political process.
Both Rudy Giuliani and Sarah Palin specifically mocked Barack's experience as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago more than two decades ago, where he worked with people who had lost jobs and been left behind when the local steel plants closed.
Let's clarify something for them right now.
Community organizing is how ordinary people respond to out-of-touch politicians and their failed policies." ...
Throughout our history, ordinary people have made good on America's promise by organizing for change from the bottom up. Community organizing is the foundation of the civil rights movement, the women's suffrage movement, labor rights, and the 40-hour workweek. ...It's now clear that John McCain's campaign has decided that desperate lies and personal attacks -- on Barack Obama and on you -- are the only way they can earn a third term for the Bush policies that McCain has supported more than 90 percent of the time.
Enough is enough.
Between the disingenuous, hypocritical rhetoric of Mitt Romney, the shameful self-righteousness and mockery of Rudi Giuliani, and the arrogant snark, insults, and cynicism of a smirking Sarah Palin, the convention hall bore less resemblance to a positive political gathering than to Orwell's "Two Minutes Hate," in which all good patriots were compelled to gather together each day to watch propaganda videos of Goldstein, a hated subversive "Enemy of the People," on ubiquitous TV screens.
Orwell:
"He was the primal traitor, the earliest defiler of the Party's purity. All subsequent crimes against the Party, all treacheries, acts of sabotage, heresies, deviations, sprang directly out of his teaching. ... an attack so exaggerated and perverse that a child should have been able to see through it, and yet just plausible enough to fill one with an alarmed feeling that other people, less level-headed than oneself, might be taken in by it."
McCain:
Last night, Obama was portrayed as the primal traitor, responsible for all that is wrong with America. He wants to kill babies and talk to evil people.
Orwell:
"... He was abusing Big Brother, he was denouncing the dictatorship of the Party, he was demanding the immediate conclusion of peace with Eurasia, he was advocating freedom of speech, freedom of the Press, freedom of assembly, freedom of thought, he was crying hysterically that the revolution had been betrayed.
McCain:
Obama says we need a new kind of politics and denounces the national leadership. That's just treasonous! He wants to end the Iraq war immediately. He has a sinister desire to restore the Constitution and civil liberties. He wants to give rights to terrorists. He'd rather lose a war just to get elected.
Orwell:
Before the Hate had proceeded for thirty seconds, uncontrollable exclamations of rage were breaking out from half the people in the room. The self−satisfied sheep−like face on the screen, and the terrifying power of the Eurasian army behind it, were too much to be borne: besides, the sight or even the thought of Goldstein produced fear and anger automatically.
McCain:
Obama would be dangerous, and he'd let all those "Radical Islamic Jihadists" destroy us. They're everywhere -- may even be your neighbor -- and they are an existential threat the likes of which has never been seen in all of history.
Orwell:
In its second minute the Hate rose to a frenzy. People were leaping up and down in their places and shouting at the tops of their voices in an effort to drown the maddening bleating voice that came from the screen.
McCain:
Convention attendees jumping up and down, shouting at the tops of their voices, "USA! USA! USA!" and "DRILL BABY DRILL!"
Orwell:
The horrible thing about the Two Minutes Hate was not that one was obliged to act a part, but, on the contrary, that it was impossible to avoid joining in. Within thirty seconds any pretence was always unnecessary. A hideous ecstasy of fear and vindictiveness, a desire to kill, to torture, to smash faces in with a sledge−hammer, seemed to flow through the whole group of people like an electric current, turning one even against one's will into a grimacing, screaming lunatic. And yet the rage that one felt was an abstract, undirected emotion which could be switched from one object to another like the flame of a blowlamp.
McCain:
Real Americans know that there is real evil in the world, and it must be destroyed. Obama's a pansy, and thinks we can talk to these people, when everybody knows that bombing works better. We have to show 'em who's boss. A little torture never hurt anyone. We are mad! We feel an abstract, undirected rage that shifts from the war, abortion, contraception, sex education, global warming, polar bears, taxes, regulation, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, black people, brown people, yellow people, poor people, Muslims, Russians, Iranians, Syrians, the French, San Franciscans, pornography, unwed mothers (all but one), liberals, left-wing media, and that ridiculously quaint, obsolete goddamn piece of paper some group of wig-wearing idiots from England wrote over two centuries ago.
Now. Obama has been accused of infanticide and called a baby killer by so many despicable Republican pundits that it is amazing anyone would be dismayed or outraged by the Sarah Palin fake pregnancy story. The morons at FOX News have had pundits and guests who have spewed some of the most disgusting accusations that human beings are capable of uttering. Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter, and Charles Krauthammer.
Other right-wing talk radio hosts and authors include Rush Limbaugh, Erick Erickson , Pat Buchanan, David Limbaugh, Andrew McCarthy, Guy Benson, Steve Maloney, and many, many more.
And guess what. Even John McCain said it, without actually saying the word.
FOX and far-right extremists have uncorked the bottle, and now it is no-holds-barred, full-scale total war. We will show no mercy, offer no quarter, take no prisoners, and we will leave nothing but scorched earth behind. By the time we have exacted justice and achieved satisfaction, there will be nothing left to sustain the life of the extremist right-wing movement. We will do it ethically, and we will not sacrifice truth, we will not resort to lying. But we will aggressively pursue every lead, and we will shove so much truth down the gullet of the neoconservatives that they choke to their political death.
Enabling and gutless Democrats will not be spared.
They have launched this domestic aggressive war exactly as they launched the illegal aggressive war in Iraq. They have invaded our country, and we are justified in making our defense by retaliation, and going on offense until there is nothing left of the enemy other than the mess they have left behind for us to fix.
It is time for us to loose the dogs of war. And as any attack dog trainer will tell you, once released, you NEVER call off the dogs until their hunger is sated and the enemy is utterly incapacitated. We will leave nothing in the ashes that they might use to reconstitute themselves and their genocidal philosophy.
The goal must be political genocide.
