Blitzer and Cooper are paid to forget that America lost. They are war facilitators.  By their clever phrasing of what they choose to highlight and what they choose to black out from telecast memory they make war on small countries attractive.

The anchors of conglomerate owned media keep repeating and repeating that McCain has excellent military experience for leading America in winning its present wars never mentioning that his experience was gained a losing and ‘mistaken’ war.

So we have to all refresh our memory in the face of the war promoting media prostitutes of journalism. To this end OpEdNews published:

McCain Shot Down by Heroic Vietnamese Defenders in Shameful US War & Defeat

Years before Airman McCain began his 23 bombing runs, Ike had admitted Ho Chi Minh was a hero to his countrymen and would have won an all-Vietnam election with 80%+ had he (Ike) not blocked it. Well before McCain's 1st bombing mission, Rev. King Jr. had angrily condemned U.S. genocide, and Muhammad Ali had refused to go. Was McCain taken in then, and now as well, by war propaganda? McCain, an anti-hero or heartless dumbbell?

How war hero John McCain betrayed the Vietnamese peasant who saved his life

In all the tales of wartime courage peppering John McCain's presidential campaign trail; perhaps the most outstanding example of selfless heroism involves not the candidate but a humble Vietnamese peasant.

On October 26, 1967, Mai Van On ran from the safety of a bomb shelter at the height of an air raid and swam out into the lake where Lieutenant Commander McCain was drowning, tangled in his parachute cord after ejecting when his Skyhawk bomber was hit by a missile.

In an extraordinary act of compassion at a time when Vietnamese citizens were being killed by US aerial bombardments, he pulled a barely conscious McCain to the lake surface and, with the help of a neighbour, dragged him towards the shore.

Media misleads the public on McCain's participation in a brutal and compassionless illegal war that remains a blot on America's history and is pointed to by both America's enemies and friends alike.

In the meantime Barak Obama, so as not to be outclassed by a more belligerent candidate for U.S. president, assures heavier war on the Taliban who were the American supported former government of Afghanistan and presently still rule in a large area of that country.  Obama indignantly points out that the Taliban “recently brazenly attacked our base”, (as if “our” base was not in THEIR country)

The Taliban government’s refusal to arrest and extradite the Saudi, Osama bin Laden, was the holy justification for invading and occupying all Afghanistan openendedly and declare as terrorists whomsoever fought the evasion and fights the occupation.  Fine! But Osama bin Laden is long said to be somewhere other than in Afghanistan. Yet Taliban hunting goes on and is hailed by Obama even though in Afghanistan during the past year, there have been daily air strikes with great loss of civilian life - in just one strike, 105 civilians.

President Karzai complains bitterly, and the Afghan parliament many months ago voted for a twenty-five year amnesty, negotiations with the former governing Taliban, and the withdrawal of all foreign troops. The U.S. media hides this from the public and the heavy air strikes on suspected Taliban continue. (Never mentioned on our ‘CNN we can trust.’)

Poor Afghanistan! Still in the cross hairs of whoever shall become the next U.S. president, following previous presidents starting with Jimmy Carter who first funded, armed and trained the fundamentalist hill tribes against the women emancipating socialist government in Kabul in order to sucker in the Soviets six months later.

Afghans will have to pay will be the price in suffering for America to be able to get Obama elected. Pakistanis might have to chip in with some worry as well, for the present ‘War on Terrorism’ scam seems to be the perennial chase of Osama bin Laden as if his capture or death would cause all the suicidal fighters against neocolonialist globalization to desist from their murderous opposition. At least this is the impression corporate media fosters.

Suggest calls for the Obama campaign to broaden its more fundamental economic approach substituting for the military occupation of Iraq to include Afghanistan. The McCain hero worship should eventually subside when media audiences start to remember on their own that the atrocious and senseless lost war McCain fought in was a shattering and embarrassing experience for most Americans.
