Governor Spitzer's "fall" galvanized the newsroom of the New York Times and gave the MSM an entire evening of jaw-dropping and self-righteous discourse. There are better things to do.

Shock. At least no awe. We associate that with the horrendous actions of the Bush regime. Unfortunately we were not sufficiently shocked by THAT . But now allegations related to Governor Spitzer being in a prostitution ring are giving everyone a chance to manifest shock and implicitly to suggest their own rectitude.Odd that public officials get the brunt of people's participation in a largely illegal business that is exploitative, cruel and unrewarding. I am in favor of legalizing it.

The brunt is on all of us for not dealing with prostitution in an open, fair and caring way.

Spitzer is taking the pipe big time because he is Crusader Rabbit. The Pete Kings of the world are merciless.

All this tells us is that people who are conspicuously strong one way are more than likely weak in some other way.

What else is new?

What goes on in Vegas stays there. In Vegas, prostitution is so prevalent that it is almost legal. You need to go up to Pahrump to actually be legal.

That is the way our whole casino-ridden society. While we are at it, we should legalize drugs.

How can we learn to just say no unless we can make a choice without getting in trouble?

Don't mind me. I just retch inwardly when confronted with a flood of righteous idiocy because someone has been thrown from the heights.

We are all more or less beasts, in deed or in mind. According to our Scriptures thought and deed are both culpable.

I wish Spitzer well. Everyone needs friends when they become pariahs. I will buy him a cup of coffee any time. I appreciate he needs to mend fences with his family.

I wish him good luck.

We are learning that it is very hard to avoid getting whipped if you are in an orbit where wiretapping and often venal journalism are prevalent. No wonder some of us who have had more than one indiscretion in life do not relish the thought of getting into public life.
