What then is tyranny?

What then is tyranny?
By definition tyranny is the rule of the many by the very few. A few examples would be the reign of Adolph Hitler and Lenin of Soviet Russia.
Hitler’s National Socialist German Workers Party was democratically voted in as the majority political party. Hitler was democratically appointed Chancellor, and once Hindenburg died, Hitler democratically had his minions in the Reichstag, Germany’s version of congress, to democratically vote German democracy out of existence. Hitler had wide spread support in both Germany and Austria, his native country for his actions.
Lenin had Trotsky launch the Russian revolution against a despotic monarchy and in its stead, Communism became the political ideology. Regardless, the Bolshevik revolution had wide popular support amongst the people of Russia.
Today, our gun people point to both of the aforementioned leaders and baselessly claim that guns in our society will prevent such governments and people from coming to power in the future. Yet, both men, Hitler and Lenin, came to power by the will of the people – history proves that to be an absolute fact.
While claiming to prevent tyranny, what have the gun people stopped here on terra firma Americana? Have they stopped the erosions of our liberties? Have they stopped the signing statements that now counter every law?
The gun culture supports a person in the White House who declares that the Constitution is nothing but “a goddamn piece of paper”. What then is tyranny, especially possibly in the making?
While the gun people claim high minded idealisms, in reality they have done nothing. Tyrants do not fear people such as our gun culture; they embrace it as Nazi Germany embraced the brutal and violent armed Brown Shirts. The Russian Revolution never would have happened if Russia had been disarmed by the Czar. Knowing this, what then is our gun culture’s true agenda?
If, between November of 2008 and January of 2009, the 20th Amendment is repealed then what will our gun culture’s answer be – nothing, absolutely nothing, as they have proven impotent against the cascading erosion of our rights.
Does the gun culture want to see a return of the Regulators of the late 19th century? The regulators were dead wrong 98% of the time in their determination of who was guilty or not, and they served as judge, jury, and executioner. A sadist experiment in the depreciation of due process that some of America is supportive of because gun control advocates are seen as traitors.
Now, as for a million man armed march on Washington D.C., were to come to fruition – God forbid, would our gun culture expect zero response from the government? We know from experience, such as in Concord just before our own revolution, the citizenry would start firing. What if there was a massive and complete military response? Would the survivors bemoan that Washington over reacted to an actual threat, yes, they would and they would be the first to scream government abuse – in a gun fight, we all take equal risks.
This country has also committed genocide that which we loathe Hitler and Lenin for – the Indian wars of the late 19th century, and surprisingly, it was the ‘militia’ that committed the most hideous of crimes. Wounded Knee was the result of trigger happy ‘militia’ members. The militia tried to sequester the Native Americans second amendment rights through the threat of lethal force and as a result the shooting started – the same type of scenario we saw at the hands of the Nazi Einsatzgruppen throughout the steppes of Russia and the Ukraine. The question becomes what gave the ‘militia’ the right to suspend the rights of others. Ergo, what is the meaning of tyranny?
In 1791, the second amendment was ratified for there was the very real threat of a slave revolt in this country. The suppression of human rights at the point of a gun – what then is tyranny?
There are groups who advocate violent overthrow of the US Government and the gun culture has insured that they too have the arms necessary to inflict war on these shores. We are a living paradox – helping to create that which we claim to want to prevent.
We want more guns in our society. How many more? A few hundred, a million, a billion? Is that going to make us safer? Psychotropic medications are the most heavily prescribed medications in this country – how many people of our gun culture are on medications that help keep them sane, an ugly question that needs to be asked. With the violence in our society, it is also a fair question that needs to be asked. Why should someone be trusted with a gun, if we have questions about your mental health? Hysterical affronts to gun control are the truer examples of weakened mental health.
More guns have not made us safe, regardless of what people want to think for people think and hear only what they want and disregard the rest. Plainly put.
The next major question that I would pose is, if our gun culture is defending freedom, then why are they not in Somalia helping to protect the innocents there? At least in Spanish Revolution, American gun culture people enlisted in the Abraham Lincoln Brigade and went to Spain to fight against fascism. We don’t see many gun culture people fighting against the insurgency in Iraq. And no gun culture person ever volunteered to go to Germany to take out Adolph Hitler. It is far too easy to sit and talk about what you think you want to do rather than taking the risks involved.
With Virginia Tech and NIU, why did the students carrying guns not intervene? Instead, they went running for cover. We know with certainty there were armed students who did nothing. Shallow bravado.
I suppose the next logical question might be why are gun culture people who tend to follow along NeoCon mentality so eager to visit a site that is liberal in its undertakings. Or are they trolling for a written fight – are they so inclined towards the sequestering of the First Amendment and the rights of others? Let their actions speak for them.
Gun control is not an emotional issue; the leading cause of death for a young black man is the bullet. Grief is an emotional issue.
Over 300,000 people are either killed or permanently disabled because of the gun each year in the United States. Minneapolis was once dubbed Murderapolis for a reason – a simple change to how murders are classified and reported gave the false sense of a falling crime rate. More guns in the black community has not caused crime to drop – that is a statistic.
While we’re mentioning Minneapolis, about two years ago, a young man was casing another man. The latter was firing his weapon and shot and killed an innocent bystander. Not a single gun carrying ‘militia’ member stepped in to intervene. The words flow, but the actions wholly fall completely short.
In the Supreme Court decision in the United States v. Miller, 1939, the Supreme Court ruled the militia 'A body of citizens enrolled for military discipline', and it is interesting to note that our ‘militia’ does not fall into the category.
Tyranny can take other forms also – take for example of the expiration of the assault weapons ban. 89% appealed that the law be extended. 11% demanded the law be expired – the minority ruled the day. Tyranny is best defined as the absolute rule of the majority by the minority.
