Goodbye for now Dear Dennis

By Garrett van Stephenson

A Farewell to the Dennis Kucinich Presidential Campaign of 2008

::::::::

His candidancy has now expired. Dennis Kucinich, the second time candidate that had the nasty habit of telling the American people the truth, has finally had to bow out of the running. It was not because he was getting only 1% or 2% of the vote. It was not because big media excluded him from the ABC debate, the CNN debate,  the MSNBC debate, or the AARP debate. It was not because he refused to sign a loyalty oath in Texas and hence was excluded from the Texas primary. It was not even because he was out of money - he had been for some time.

 In the end, the final event that precipitated his retreat from the race for President was that he now has a race on his hands to to keep his seat in Congress. It seems that somewhere along the way - could it have been the impeachments? - could it have been eliminating medical insurance?  - could it have been replacing free trade with fair trade? - somehow, somwhere along the way, inexplicibly, it seems that Dennis may have made a few enemies. And now I am guessing - and this is pure speculation - it could be that some of those enemies are out to get even with him, (as if that were possible.)

Your assignment, dear readers, if you need a way to spend your spare time, is to find out who is running against Dennis, in his Congressional district in Ohio, and who is bankrolling them. Good luck and God's Speed! As an Ethics  professor once told me, and if only politicians besides Dennis would take Ethics, "The truth always comes out, sooner or later." - Garbear
