Ron Paul: How ignorance is hindering both sides
By David Monk
It's a critcal take on MSM and TV pundits under the light of the recent smear campaign of Dr. Ron Paul.
::::::::
By now you have heard all the stories on how Ron Paul is a racist
or how he might be.The fact of the matter is simple really; you have to
decide for yourself. When you compare the stories written under his
name in a newsletter against everything he has ever said he becomes
clear what happened. All the time spent analyzing the story is working
to the advantage of those who put the story out. What is important is
the issue that are being brought up indirectly by the story. If you have
followed Dr. Ron Paul even moderately you knew about this a long time
ago and should come as no surprise. So the question is why is everyone
seemingly so shocked. Do you mean to tell me that TV pundits just read
what they are brought or do they actually look some of this stuff up
themselves? In that regard how often do they do this with more
important stories? For me, the question of how often TV pundits
research anything at all is a big deal. It would seem that it doesn’t
happen at all if you listened to Wolf Blitzer’s interview of Dr. Paul about
the smear campaign.
It’s easy to say the MSM doesn’t do their job and even easier to
criticize TV pundits trying to fill hours a day. But the real question is, is
any of the news completely correct at any time at all? To me, the
amazement of these TV pundits is either an act or they really just read
this stuff and hope they are right? If either scenario is correct the
general public should have real concern about the information they are
getting on a daily basis. I do not feel this to be your regular down with
the MSM piece but hopefully a fair reflection of the state of media
today.
So I guess I am one of those ignorant followers of Dr. Paul with no
insight who spends all of my time posting comments and text Fox News
after a debate. The funny thing about that is I can not text Fox News
because my broke behind can only afford Cricket who does not
participate in the Fox News polls. If anything those text polls could be
considered elitist as one would need to have a cell phone with a
national or major company to even participate. Those of us too poor to
afford paying for minutes or to even have a cell phone are simply left
out. So to me it would seem that the ignorance on both sides seems to
be feeding into one another.
You have people brand new to the political game seemingly
everywhere and right next to them some uppity reporter taking glee in
the awkward struggle of finding their political voice. So it’s the
ignorance of the new and the ignorance of the "been there" butting
heads. It reminds me of a line from a Queen song from the Day at the
Races album, "The man who learned how to teach and then forgot how
to learn." To downplay the rise of any grassroots campaign no matter
their level of political comprehension is to belittle us all and to say there
is no hope for change. Unless of course the MSM and TV pundits say it’s
ok, cause one would be have to be crazy not to listen to them, right?
I would argue for you not to even listen to me but to decide for
yourself. If it turns out after all the information is out and all platforms
have been reviewed and you still want to vote and support Dr. Paul. We
can all just be crazy, misinformed, fringe never gonna get anywhere rag
tag bunch of misfits together. The difference between before the Dr.
Ron Paul movement and after is that we will have each other.Peace, Love and Solidarity with the movement as always, David Monk
