The Newest and Oldest American Media

By George Washington

Let's take this 200-year-old tool off of the shelf and use it to reach all of those who do not get any real exposure to what's going on in this country. Let's reach those hypnotized by tv news lies with the real story.

Pamphlets were vital during the American Revolution -- in educating the colonists and motivating them to throw off the shackles of their British rulers.

With the Web, cellphones, DVDs and giant flat-screen tvs, pamplets may seem quaint. But as experience shows, sometimes the low-tech printed page is mightier than the high-tech digital byte.

As shown in a recent article in Utne Reader, pamplets are making a comeback.

Pamplets can be printed and sold cheaply enough that anyone can afford them. They are small enough so that even busy Americans with a short attention-span can get a dose of truth in under an hour.

I have reserved some good domain names for selling pamphlets, and I -- and many of you -- have written essays which are ready-to-print into pamphlets.

Let's take this 200-year-old tool off of the shelf and use it to reach all of those who do not get any real exposure to what's going on in this country. Let's reach those hypnotized by tv news lies with the real story.

If you care to join me in this effort, post here or shoot me an email. People with printing experience or the resources to get the pamphlet project off of the ground are particularly welcomed.

Authors Bio:
George Washington

As a political activist for decades, I have rejoiced in victories for the people and mourned in defeats. I chose the pen name "George Washington" because - as Washington's biographies show - he wasn't a very good strategist, but he was incredibly persistent. He hung in again and again during the worst setbacks and bleakest winters for years. That is what made him great: he simply refused to quit. George Washington therefore inspires me to be a life-long activist.

As an attorney and former law school professor, I am a firm believer that no one - even the high and mighty - are above the law.

As someone trained in environmental systems analysis, I am always looking at how different trends influence each other ... and the big picture.
