Kucinich To Meet With Granny Peace Brigade; 100 Grandmothers Descend on Congress Urging Troop Withdrawal

Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) will meet with 100 Grannies from across the United States tomorrow as they state their case for ending the war in Iraq.

Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) will meet with 100 Grannies from across the United States tomorrow as they state their case for ending the war in Iraq. The press conference will be in HC-6 of the Capitol building at 9 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2007. Featured guests at the press conference include: Gold Star mother Elaine Johnson Retired Army Reserve Colonel Ann Wright 91-year-old Marie Runyon who just received the New York State Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanitarian Award The Granny Peace Brigade has gained notoriety recently for asking to enlist at military recruitment centers in order to replace their grandchildren who had been deployed to Iraq. They were denied access and were arrested. Following the press conference, the Grannies will visit Senate offices to ask their Senators to cut off funding for the Iraq war. The Grannies are using Congressman Kucinich's 12-point plan for Iraq as the basis for their petition to Congress.
