"Saving Biden's 2024 Presidential Campaign"

By Bohdan Yuri

How to improve Biden's chances of beating Trump even before the election

::::::::

We will soon be immersed in a presidential race between two very, very old candidates: Donald Trump and Joe Biden. They're already firing salvos at each other in the Cognitive War.

Republicans, no matter their moral values, will steadfastly back Trump with their fealty alone. Meanwhile, the Democrats are becoming less than enthusiastic about Biden's chances, and they have a right to feel that way.

The choice of Kamala Harris as Vice President was a Biden promise kept. My choice would have been Susan Rice, someone whose gravitas would've only expanded on the world stage making her an obvious choice to carry on to the next step as President. But that opportunity has passed.

Now, the primary motive is to save Democracy... through the Vice-Presidential choice.

Time for Biden to swallow his pride and think about the future. Kamala must also realize that she should offer her resignation as a running mate based on the fact that Republicans have already painted her as a drawback for Biden.

This next campaign will be vicious; fast and furious, and filled with treacherous, sometimes vile, accusations. Trump's true nastiness will be on full display. The Democratic Party has to realize this state of affairs and counter that flaw.

Kamala has served with honor despite the slanderous views from Fox and Republicans. Unfortunately now is the time for her to step down and assist the campaign by allowing Joe to pick a replacement --- and that is how Biden can improve his chance for re-election.

Trump will pick a sycophant for his running mate. He might even hit a homerun and choose a near "perfect" MAGA man. But it'll still be a Trumpster reflecting Trump's policies and that is where the fight begins.

Joe stated that there are at least 50 Democrats who could beat Trump. Well, Joe --- Choose one of those as your younger running mate if you still plan on running.

And I don't mean just any one of those 50. Can anyone remember the Democratic VP running mates of the last losing elections? I doubt it.

No, this choice has to have the snap-back ability of a Newsome, the respect of a Mark Kelly, the clean logic of an Angus King and the patriotic self-sacrifice and courage of a Liz Cheney.

Right now someone like Gov. Newsome would have some advantage. At the same time, he does come into the fray with some political and personal "soap-opera style" baggage --- fodder for Trump's nefarious conclusions. But the man does know how to counteract the Republicans as he'd shown in his Fox debate with DeSantis. Would that be enough?

It might be, as the eventual debates may hinge on controlled brilliance. Nevertheless, great care will have to be concluded in that final choice. But that decision, to pick a new running mate, will be a necessary action if Joe plans on winning.

Biden and the Democrats should start vetting now to find that extraordinary VP candidate, the one who will moot the fear of Biden being too old.

But remember, in the end, it's not really a contest between two men. No, it is a contest of policies and Biden merely represents a movement with Democratic Party principles. While the Republicans counter with Trump and their MAGA principles.

In this kind of race the order of command, the next in line from top to bottom, is perhaps more important and the only factor that should be assessed against another Biden or Trump term.

The Democrats would need someone that's dynamic and ready to step in should Biden falter in any way, mental or physical. And if not Newsome, then anyone with a similar template.

We can only imagine the Republican running mate to be a sycophant spewing the same policies as his MAGA/GOP platform; making him irrelevant and merely subservient to Trump's every dictatorial wish. So this may actually turn into a contest of running mates' character and abilities.

Despite the misspoken word, or stumbling moments that are part of aging, Biden still has the aptitude and ability to judge and govern well as President.

The real concern is for Biden's mortal health. We all die, but if his death should happen during his Presidency who will become President. So let's debate the real issue: Who should be Biden's running mate. And let's choose one that is most qualified, above all.
