The current neo-fascist regime in the US has steadfast devotees to whom this draconian administration can do no wrong. Their organized flag-waving requires these cautionary comments so that the spirit of democracy and pluralism may survive.

A cautionary essay

My wife and I were returning today from the local Hindu Temple after having participated (I was one of two who conducted the ceremony) in an auspicious Fall Festival with offerings to the Devi of all Creation- a festival that has at least a 1000-year tradition in Bengal.

On our way back, we were quite alarmed by the sight of literally hundreds of trucks and other vehicles with the Orange Menace's banners, literally ganging up along the highways (we found them on I-75, I-71 and several other major highways).

My friend, who was ahead of us, first informed us with great apprehension, since given the inherent violence potential within these gun-toting types, this action (which my son told me has been going on for weeks; I assume more nearer to Cincinnati and Kentucky) provides even more reasons to be concerned.

First, of course, it is absolutely beyond me how any human being can live in isolated caves, so that they can be unaware of the profound disaster that this DC creature has inflicted upon this country (not to mention the world). He and his violent, ruthless goons are 100% responsible for the unimaginable virus deaths in this country- a shining example for the earth. His crudeness, barbarity, sleaze-marination, absolute idiocy, self-obsessed narcissism, entitled malevolence--there is not an iota of anything remotely redemptive about this special monster. He actually surpasses POTUS 2000-2008 (during whose crime-infested regime I (and many others) thought that could never be bested) in terms of ignorance, hatefulness, fraud, deception; and the list is simply endless. The pitiful rubes, as my friend pointed out, are nowhere in the billionaire or millionaire clubs, yet they worship the very instrument that will ultimately render them all helpless paupers. These devoted goons have not a clue about humanity, life, the earth, our responsibilities--absolutely nothing--they are purely brain dead and brain-washed, and offer their devotion to an embodiment of evil.

These flag-waving terror gangs actually do raise in my mind the distinct possibility that aided by his bigoted hate-mongering gangs--the reptile in DC will actually either outright steal the election, or (as some are foretelling) might hold on to his fascist office by any and all means. This appears to be a distinct possibility. My friend quite correctly reminded us that all of this truly is a re-enactment of 1930s Germany en route to a completely draconian, racial-supremacist takeover.

I told my friend that I (among a minority of others) have been clamoring about the potential onset of precisely such times, for now almost 35+ years. This all began with Ronald Reagan--and the worst is very likely straight ahead.

I am putting these thoughts out there for people of goodwill and humanity to unite with confidence against this abject evil. History shows that only through such concerted, united stand can annihilation of civilization be avoided. In many ways, we are simply on the brink.

BTW--because I was driving, I was unable to take any photos of the flag-waving goons. Maybe that is for good, since such crude sights are even more disturbing to one's vision. This country has now opened the floodgates for all the KKK, skinhead and other hateful gangsters to come out of their dark, unlit corners and unleash sheer nightmare upon humanity.

Monish R. Chatterjee received the B.Tech. (Hons) degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from I.I.T., Kharagpur, India, in 1979, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering, from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa, in 1981 and 1985, respectively. Dr. Chatterjee was a faculty member in Electrical and Computer Engineering at SUNY Binghamton from 1986 through 2002. Dr. Chatterjee is currently with the ECE department at the University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Chatterjee, who specializes in applied optics, has contributed more than 100 papers to technical conferences, and has published more than 70 papers in archival journals and conference proceedings, in addition to numerous reference articles on science. Dr. Chatterjee's most recent literary essays appear in Rabindranath Tagore: Universality and Tradition, published by FDU Press (2004); Celebrating Tagore, published by Allied Publishers (2009); and Tagore: A Timeless Mind by ICCR and the London Tagore Society (2012). He is the author of four books of translation (Kamalakanta, Profiles in Faith, Balika Badhu and Seasons of Life) from his native Bengali. In 2000, Dr. Chatterjee received the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching. In 2005, Dr. Chatterjee received a Humanities Fellows award from the University of Dayton to conduct research on scientific language. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, OSA, and SPIE and a member of ASEE and Sigma Xi.
