This is Our Time
By Timothy Gatto
It's amazing how some people believe that they live in a democracy. We have 350 million people in United States and only two major political parties. The truth of the matter is that both political parties the Democrats and Republicans are controlled by corporations and the military-industrial complex. Americans do not have a voice and haven't had a voice for very long time.

When I see what's going on in this country I must shake my head and wonder where is everybody's head at? As far as I am concerned, the left his bed is the right. This of session with Russia has gotten completely out of hand. I'm not saying that the investigation by the special counsel Robert Mueller shouldn't go on, but I am tired of people like Rachel Maddow constantly saying Russia this and Russia that entreating that nation like it's the worst enemy on earth.
As far as the right is concerned, it is unbelievable that people still support a president that does nothing but lie to the American people and cover things up like his affairs in all his financial dealings. It is my belief that this president will be impeached very soon and I dread the thought of the president Pence.
Senator Elizabeth Warren introduced a bill in Congress that would force corporations to become more democratic. You should see her address to the center for American progress. She says that democracy in United States is "crumbling". I believe that democracy in United States never existed. It didn't exist when the Declaration of Independence was written, it didn't exist when the pioneers exterminated the Indians, and it never existed during both world wars.
Senator Elizabeth Warren may talk a good game which is worth over $6 million dollars. Senator Bernie Sanders talks about game but he always votes to fund weapons for Israel and Saudi Arabia and falls in line to put sanctions on Russia. He also voted to fund the Iraq war even though he voted against it.
When are people going to wake up and understand that it is the people that have the power to change not only our country, but the whole world. When people understand that passive resistance and violent insistence on a grand scale will totally rocked the corporate and military-industrial complex.
I don't know if I'll see a change in my lifetime, but people must understand that these two political parties do not have the People's best interests in mind. They are all bought like puppies at a puppy farm by lobbyists and super Pac's and all the other people that finance their political campaigns and give them jobs if they lose their elected seats in the revolving door of Washington lobbyists.
We can upend the system by voting for progresses in midterm elections and give Trump a resounding defeat by electing enough Democrats in the house and the Senate to impeach him. Vice President Mike Pence should be put on notice that he too will be under scrutiny by the American people. The American people need to stop putting people in politics on a pedestal. These people in these two major political parties are corrupt to the core and that includes some so-called "progressives". I went to a Bernie Sanders rally here in South Carolina in 2016 and tried to ask why 55% of our budget goes to the military. The speaker, the one who wrote a book on Bernie Sanders, knew I was going to answer that question because he overheard me talking with my wife. Even though I was at the front of the gathering sitting in the first row raising my hand to ask a question he completely ignored me. Senator Bernie Sanders doesn't like to talk about how much money goes into the military-industrial complex.
Unless things change, the presidential election in 2020 needs to be a milestone in American politics by electing a president from a new political party. Playing the Democrat and Republican game is not helping the citizens of the United States, at least those in the working and middle classes. The rich are growing exceedingly rich and the poor are barely living from paycheck to paycheck. In the richest country in the world, this can't go on. The right and left need to get together instead of fighting over distractions that are threat to us by the mainstream media. MSNBC is as bad as Fox News. MSNBC has a phobia about Russia.
Since my strokes I don't write much so I decided to do my radio show again. The show is titled Tim Gatto "uncut and uncensored". It is our blog talk radio. I intend to continue to write articles but when I write on this website I feel like I'm preaching to the choir. I tried to ignore the political situation and I find that I can't in good conscience stay silent while so many criminals are driving this country into the ground. We spend more on weapons of war than we do on healthcare, education, or infrastructure. There are people drinking water that contains unsafe levels of lead not only in Flint Michigan but many other cities in this country.
People must choose between buying food and buying medicine. Every member of the Senate is a millionaire and most members of the house are millionaires. If you think they give a damn about you your sadly mistaken. People need to turn out the mainstream media and get their news from alternative sources and stop listening to corporate propaganda. I know that my house you will never see MSNBC, CNN, and especially Fox News. I get my information from Reuters; Sky news and I watch RT and YouTube. There are so many ways to get good information without turning to the corporate propagandists.
Change the way you learn about the world and that will change your mindset. The mainstream media is only a weapon of mass distraction. Americans are not as divided as a corporate media would like you to believe. There are some wonderful things right here in America such as the music we make and the books that we write. We are not "exceptional", we are like everyone else in the world, just people trying to make it they by day. Be kind to everyone because everyone is fighting "a hard battle". This is our country this is where we live and we don't change it and we don't make it more responsive to the people it is nobody's fault but ours.
