I'd Be Crying Too

By Cheryl Dykstra

Just because a bad actor became a president doesn't mean a bad president can become an actor.

::::::::

If you missed the President's 9/11 Anniversary Speech - not to worry - just wait a couple of years and visit Orlando, Florida. Honestly, if CNN hadn't announced that they were bringing me the President's speech live, I could have sworn I was viewing a future promotional ad for Disney's "Hall of Presidents", where one can hear the same speech over and over and over again for one hefty-keep-out-the-riff-raff admission price.

Considering the amount of taxes I pay - I'm pissed off. I'm going to write to my Representative tomorrow and ask that my tax funds be diverted immediately! I'm going to demand that Halliburton executives give up a lap dance or two so that Karl Rove can hire a new speech writer for the President so that I don't have to be subjected to the same old tired "Terror, terror, terror, we-are-fighting-them-over-there-so-we-don't-have-to-fight-them-over-here, terror, terror, terror, God Bless America, terror, terror, terror..." speech again for crying out loud!

By the way, I would also like to know why the President is wiretapping everyone in America if "we-are-fighting-them-over-there-so-we-don't-have-to-fight-them-over-here"? Does that mean we lost, and "THEY" are already over here?! If not, then who the hell is the government listening to and why? And - if "THEY" are here - and the government is listening to them - then please hang up the goddamned phone and go get them, you idiots! Did you ever consider the fact that maybe - just maybe - if we spent $200 million a day here in the good old U.S.A. patrolling OUR own Homeland's borders rather than Iraq's, "THEY" (who we're supposedly wiretapping) wouldn't be over here to wiretap in the first place?!

As to the cynics among us... just remember that some good Republican-paid journalist reported today that the President had tears in his eyes while visiting the field in Pennsylvania where one of the 9/11 hijacked planes met an untimely end. Although the wind was blowing like old Rumsfeld on the day he landed in Iraq and inadvertently ingested some standard photo-op messhall turkey, and the allergy index was higher than Dick Cheney when shooting quail for torte, sport, whatever... said-journalist duly reported that the President had shown real emotion.

You know what? I believe said-journalist. After all, if I had screwed up everything as badly as Bush had - by invading the wrong country, bankrupting our entire nation and serving our fine Troops lethal rubber turkeys - hell, I'd be crying too, wouldn't you?!
