Political poems: outrage in rhyme
By dale ruff
a political poem a call from home to rouse the masses and fire the asses!

Political Poems: outrage and rhyme
songs about great fortunes and crime.
We sing of our love, the birth of a child,
we honor great art and the greater wild;
We sing of our sorrows and celebration,
but why not the pains and death of a nation?
Some say huge fortunes arise from great crimes.
And that's why I write, why I spin rhymes:
my goal is to find in the unfinished script
the key to unlock the secret crypt
of a nation in danger
almost a stranger
with con men in charge
of the sinking barge
once called
our home,
We are not alone!
We will not accept a crumb or a bone
from rich men who have hearts of stone:
we will stop crying
and yelling
and rhyming....
our moment is coming;
it's all in the timing.
I'm getting my pitchfork
when done with this rhyming.
Like Marat, my ideas
come in the bath
and dripping with water
I leap out of the tub
to vent my wrath.
For poetry is revolution
the birth of the new,
a lyrical coup....
reaching out to YOU,
my brother and sister
to lance the blister
and drain it clean.
This is OUR goal.
So pack a bowl
and take a puff
and give your thanks
to Dale Ruff.
