Moving On From the Convention, A Real Cliff Hanger... What Happens Now?
By Alison Landes
How is it that with 20,000 leaked emails proving the DNC undermined Bernie's campaign, and after Debbie Wasserman Schultz is booed off stage MSNBC puts caption as DWS is cheered, and with a class action lawsuit against DWS and the DNC in progress, Hillary Clinton makes DWS the honorary chair of her 50-state program and President Obama praises her for having his back and called her to express his gratitude?

Moving On From the Convention
A Real Cliff Hanger... What Happens Now?
Casting aside or investigating and prosecuting the tricks and travesties of this political season Bernie Sanders would be the obvious winner in the Democratic Primary. Included in this lineup is the mainstream media, media black-outs, Associated Press, the DNC, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, the debate schedule, superdelegates, vote rigging, voter suppression and election fraud, lies about Bernie's successes in Congress, the private email server in the basement of Hillary's home, the Clinton Foundation and most recently 20,000 leaked emails from the DNC undermining Bernie's campaign.
Hillary's rise to power, if not halted by any of the above, will be the biggest heist in United States politics. True Progressives are infuriated at the unmitigated gall of the Democratic political machine to be lying so blatantly to millions of citizens who worked tirelessly for their candidate in this election. The 4-day Democratic National Convention, costing in excess of $84 million, is assisted throughout by mainstream media, painting a picture perfect storybook image of Hillary Clinton.
Bernie Sanders had to have guts and integrity to jump into this election cycle. We learned throughout the primaries, how difficult it is to challenge the status quo of the political hierarchy where corporations and wealthy donors influence elected and appointed officials in power all of whom are reaping the benefits. Bernie's campaign has exposed the magnitude and insidiousness of the Clinton dynasty and all that reinforces it within our current democracy. There is no playbook to follow. This election cycle is in uncharted territory and the voters need an infusion of support from a cadre of people such as the individuals listed at the end of this article, who are not beholden to the political system currently in place.
The Democratic Platform established between Bernie's and Hillary's campaigns, without vigilant watchfulness is destined to be "all talk and no action" if Hillary steps into the White House. Even if the Platform meant something, preliminary discussions may have sounded like they are moving in Bernie's favor but it could have been subterfuge to detract attention from the infuriating conclusion of FBI Director James Comey, in absolving Hillary of any negligence.
Before Hillary selected Tim Kaine, the U.S. Senator from Virginia, as her Vice Presidential running mate, among others, Senator Elizabeth Warren paraded around town as a potential VP, but Warren on the ticket did not hold much promise. Hillary is far from the Progressive candidate that Bernie is and Warren's failure to endorse him speaks volumes about her integrity. Anything Warren could accomplish in Hillary's White House would be counterproductive to everything we thought she believed in and everything Sanders' campaign supporters have been fighting for and funding. Had she stayed out of the fray until the Convention that might have been her salvation.
There are three questions about the primaries, the answers to which could have changed the course of history right up to the Democratic Convention and beyond. The first two involve Bernie's attorney, Brad C. Deutsch, what he did or didn't do and what he could have done. The first question is about election fraud and the second has to do with the impropriety of the media. The third question concerns the superdelegates whose moral compass may be dormant but might still be activated with the help of Bernie's most active supporters.
While incorrectly counting superdelegates' endorsements all along, mainstream media acted inexcusably on June 6th, when the night before 7 critical primaries including California and New Jersey, Hillary was crowned the presumptive nominee. Led by the Associated Press, the media shared their disingenuous calculations with the viewing audience saying the requisite number of previously "uncommitted" superdelegates now had "anonymously" informed them that they would be endorsing Hillary.
Superdelegates' votes, according to Party rules, are meaningless until the Convention and changeable any time up to and during the Convention. The Hillary Victory Fund concocted a convoluted and deceptive fundraising system enabling wealthy donors to contribute exorbitant sums to help candidates up and down the ballot, many of them superdelegates, when in fact the majority of the money went back to Hillary's campaign. This fundraising scheme in actuality created a conflict of interest for the superdelegates. The superdelegates need to be convinced their own integrity is on the line and it is to their benefit and the nation as a whole for them to endorse Bernie.
Brad C. Deutsch, an owner of Garvey Schubert Barer Law, is Bernie's attorney. Deutsch represents "a range of House and Senate candidates, as well as corporations and their political committees." How strong is his commitment to Bernie's campaign? Is there a conflict of interest similar to the situation with Tad Devine, a senior advisor to Bernie 2016?
Back in March, several comments made by Tad Devine, president of Devine, Mulvey and Longabaugh, a Democratic media consulting firm were less than stellar. Devine lost my vote of confidence early on when he shared on national television and in print media, comments about Bernie's potential for winning the nomination. When questioned about whether Sanders would consider being Hillary's running mate on her ticket and the magnitude of Sanders' campaign efforts and results in early states, his remarks put Sanders campaign in a compromised position that had to be dialed back.
Sanders Aide Walks Back VP Comments
As Sander's chief strategist, Tad Devine is described by some as the insider most eager to make peace with the Clinton forces.
Will This Guy Shut Off the Lights in the Sanders Campaign?
Is there an inherent conflict of interest in the likelihood that Devine's firm works with a large number of other clients who are at this time publicly supporting the Hillary political machine? Is it possible that he and Brad Deutsch, meant well initially but did not realize just how strong Bernie's campaign would be with Progressives in this election and in the midst of it decided that standing up for his campaign too fiercely might alienate other establishment Democrat clients and for Brad Deutsch might also alienate his contacts with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Bernie 2016 for president is excellent exposure for drumming up new business as long as Sanders' campaign doesn't upset the establishment candidate's coronation victory.
Lead counsel to Bernie 2016, the presidential campaign of Senator Bernie Sanders, Brad C. Deutsch received countless emails and phone calls from Bernie supporters and responded to none of them. He wrote a number of letters complaining to the DNC about its tactics. But, when researching on line for complaints about election fraud and voter suppression and the horrific media coverage and black-outs regarding Sanders' campaign, I found nothing from Deutsch's office. Where was the push-back to the corrupt voting and the irreparable harm done by the mainstream media? I sent him a copy of the letter, now on opednews.com, written to Preet Bharara about the fraudulent New York Primary and the need for a redo

and another to Cyrus C. Vance, Jr.
"Oh What a Tangled Web We Weave When First We Practice to Deceive." The (Un)Democratic New York Primary
no-one heard back from either Bharara or Vance.
Before joining Garvey Schubert Barer Law as an owner in 2014, Deutsch was at the Federal Election Commission (FEC) for more than 10 years where he also worked as chief counsel to Commissioner Steven Walther. Earlier in his career he was an associate at a firm where he often worked on matters concerning the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Deutsch was hired by the Sanders campaign when it started up in April 2015. When asked, he said he was referred to Sanders by a colleague whom he declined to identify. Why?
It's not surprising that with all these credentials and experience with the FEC and the FCC, Deutsch had written several letters to the DNC complaining about its tactics including the legitimacy of the Hillary Victory Fund and the likelihood that it may have violated campaign-finance laws. But when searching on line for complaints about voter suppression, election fraud, horrific media coverage and black-outs I found nothing from Deutsch's office to either the FEC or the FCC regarding Sanders' campaign.
Brad Deutsch, has 3 areas of specialty; Political Law, Communications Law and the Cannibis Industry. His practice is substantially involved with Communications Law, inclusive of media representation, radio and television stations, regulatory compliance with the FCC, and so forth. Working as Bernie's attorney was an excellent platform to make contacts for his law firm. Was there a conflict of interest? Was there any problem with speaking out or criticizing the Associated Press or other television and media outlets for treating Bernie unfairly when a substantial part of your practice is Communications Law?
Deutsch and two of his associates authored a free downloadable guidebook for people selling political ads. In fact, the same press release copied below, dated February 16, 2016 announcing the free guidebook noted that Deutsch would be speaking on the topic of campaign finance and the 2016 election on February 17, 2016 in Washington, DC. For more details interested parties were directed to the American Bar Association (ABA) website. Was there any conflict of interest between criticizing the media and prospecting for new media clients?
Garvey Schubert Barer and TVNewsCheck Release Free Political Advertising Handbook for Television Industry Handbook educates advertising sales representatives on how to work with campaigns without running afoul of complex regulations regarding political ads
WASHINGTON, DC (February 16, 2016) Law firm Garvey Schubert Barer and TVNewsCheck have released a free handbook for TV broadcasters on the legal aspects of political advertisements. The publication, 'Political Advertising: A Guide for the TV Sales Executive' provides an overview of the essential concepts of political advertising and key regulations affecting legal compliance, and can be viewed online here.
The guidebook has been drafted by attorneys with deep experience in broadcasting, political campaigns and the Federal Elections Commission. Erwin Krasnow, a partner at Garvey Schubert Barer is former general counsel of the National Association of Broadcasters. Brad Deutsch, a partner at Garvey Schubert Barer, is a former chief of staff to FEC Commissioner Steven T. Walther and is currently legal counsel to the Bernie Sanders presidential campaign. John King, of the law offices of John W. King, is former editor of the Federal Communications Bar Journal.
If for any reason the link above does not take you to the site, the entire booklet is here:
Additional uncertainties come to mind when reading about the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Information below from the FCC website gives sway to other questions about why there had not been more push-back from Deutsch's office taking into account the qualifications and experience of his two partners with whom Deutsch wrote the free political advertising handbook for the television industry. Is it that a lawsuit against these corporate titans would be too costly and Sanders' campaign could not afford to fund it? Or again, the recurring question, did Deutsch like Devine and so many others that operate and thrive in the upper echelons of society underestimate the Sanders' campaign and not want to bite the hand that feeds them so well?
Why not ask if Sanders' supporters would be willing to have a portion of their donations be directed to legally fight the current travesty of justice protecting the elite. Without fighting and outing the inherent dishonesty and theft of this election, funding the campaign will be an ongoing source of frustration and good money, energy and human resources down the drain.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website, https://www.fcc.gov/ contains a plethora of information including mention that the FCC receives a wide variety of comments and complaints from consumers about whether networks, stations, news reporters or commentators give inaccurate or one-sided news presentations, fail to cover certain events or cover them adequately, overemphasize or dramatize certain aspects of news events. Other complaints are received regarding the conduct of journalists in the gathering and reporting of news.
While the FCC's authority to respond to these complaints is narrow in scope and the Commission is prohibited by law from engaging in censorship or infringing on First Amendment rights of the press, it may issue penalties if a broadcaster knowingly transmits false information.
Broadcasters have significant responsibilities. It's noted on the FCC website that as public trustees, broadcasters may not intentionally distort the news. The FCC has stated publicly that "rigging or slanting the news is a most heinous act against the public interest." The FCC may act to protect the public interest when it has received documented evidence, such as testimony from persons who have direct personal knowledge of an intentional falsification of the news. Without such documented evidence, the FCC generally cannot intervene. The FCC website provides detailed information about filing complaints, documenting concerns or comments about a specific news broadcast or commentary online, by phone or by mail. It spells out the specifics needed in asserting news distortion, rigging or slanting and the necessity of including documented evidence of deliberate misrepresentation.Three of infinite on-line articles about media undermining Sanders' campaign;

Why the media ignores Bernie Sanders
http://samuel-warde.com/2015/08/why-the-media-ignores-bernie-sanders/
The latest crime against our so-called democracy involves Attorney General Loretta Lynch, FBI director James Comey and their dual abomination of letting Hillary off the hook regarding her complete disregard for the protection of the information entrusted to her as Secretary of State. As noted below in the comment of Judith Wright-Gillett, Hillary knew exactly what she was doing in placing information that belongs to the United States government on a private server in the basement of her home where by doing so she evaded the Freedom of Information Act. If she didn't know, coupled with all the baggage and problems she has had with trust issues, here once again the public is confronted with the special treatment she is receiving.
The recent hearing of the Judiciary Oversight Committee was yet another display of the ineptitude or dishonesty or lack of integrity on the part of many in politics. The Democrats and Republicans took turns questioning Attorney General Loretta Lynch. The Republicans asked excellent penetrating questions which Lynch time and again refused to answer in any meaningful way. The Democrats pandered with every question starting with Representative John Conyers who in his opening statement lost more of my respect for him than when I learned in his superdelegate capacity he endorsed Hillary Clinton who has continued to disregard every good reason to enact Single-payer healthcare, which Conyers has been championing for decades. There is far too much money exchanging hands from the special interest groups and one has to ask what are Conyers and others getting from the Clinton machine to support her in such a way.

The Clinton Foundation is still under investigation. How extensive is the coordination between Hillary's connections through her Secretary of State position and the millions of dollars pouring into the Clinton Foundation? It becomes more difficult to analyze due to Hillary's convenient avoidance of FOIA and subsequent deletions of some 30,000 email documents at her discretion.

Taking the above under consideration to analyze and discuss its validity in part or in its entirety, several individuals come to mind whose objectivity can still help alter the trajectory of this election. Or if Bernie's fate is impenetrably cast, at least bring Progressives en masse to support Jill Stein and Dr. Cornel West. Assuming a viable plan of action can be constructed in the short time remaining before the general election, getting in touch directly with Jeffrey Weaver and Bernie Sanders, which to date has been impossible, would be essential.
Rob Hager; a public-interest litigator who filed a Supreme Court amicus brief in the 2012 Montana sequel to the Citizens United case, American Tradition Partnership, Inc. v. Bullock, and has worked as an international consultant on legal development and anti-corruption issues. Hager talks about two important plans of attack to expose the vulnerability of the current Democratic party and the Washington establishment in general. First is the conflict of interest Recusal Rule as it pertains to the superdelegates and second is how Buckley v Valeo supercedes Citizens United in importance.
Conflict of interest Recusal Rule: Bernie supporters can reach out to superdelegates to ask them to disclose any benefits they have received or expect to receive from the Clintons if they refuse to vote for the candidate most likely to win the general election, as the superdelegate mechanism was originally intended to do. Had the Clinton political machine not undermined Bernie's campaign from the get-go, in all likelihood Bernie would be the winning primary candidate.
Buckley v Valeo: According to Rob Hager, this is the case that must be overturned because that would take down Citizens United and every other money is speech case that props up the plutocracy. An article on opednews by Hager details more of his ideas.

Margaret Sullivan, was the public editor at the New York Times. She complained publicly in her reply when the New York Times, although denying influence of the Hillary political machine, completely altered the positive article they had written about Bernie by changing a couple of words and adding another paragraph.

Sullivan is now employed by The Washington Post, as the Media Columnist, writing about digital media and how that transformation is affecting people's lives and work. If she is unable to speak freely, as the Washington Post is also guilty of maligning Sanders campaign, an alternate individual will be consulted. Matt Taibbi immediately comes to mind as someone who unabashedly writes the truth as he sees it.

Judith Wright-Gillett; a former government lawyer who knows that what Hillary did with the private server in the basement of her private home in upstate New York was completely inexcusable and negates the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). Copied below is her eye-opener of a comment to Neal Gabler's June 10, 2016 article titled Did the Press Take Down Bernie Sanders?
"Mr. Gabler, you are still doing it. The press, more than any other American institution, relies on Freedom of Information Act requests to hold our government officials accountable for their actions. Let's break this down: HRC, while SOS, installed and exclusively used a secret private server in her home to conduct government business -- she has admitted this. When caught, she had private legal staff review and subsequently delete over 30k emails. This is indisputable and she has admitted to this, as well. By installing and exclusively relying upon her secret server, she created a shield, allowing her to perform in a vacuum, free from public scrutiny or accountability, and she rendered her emails inaccessible via FOIA requests. This is unprecedented. No cabinet level official in our history has gone to such lengths to hide his/her behaviors. Now ask yourself why. What possible excuse was there for the use of the secret server? There was only one -- to frustrate the FOIA process. This showed utter contempt for government regulations, contempt for the press, and contempt for every American citizen. Now let's look at what she did when she was caught -- rather than simply producing the hidden documents, she had her own lawyers review and then delete countless documents. I am a former government lawyer with significant training in how to properly handle FOIA requests and I can assure you that the focus of her private attorneys (namely her fifth amendment privilege(s)) would not have been a concern for State Department lawyers tasked with fulfilling a FOIA request. Her decision to delete over thirty thousand documents is absolutely unprecedented and makes Nixon look like a paragon of openness and accountability. I ask you, as a member of the press, WHY AREN'T YOU SHOUTING THIS STORY FROM THE ROOFTOPS? The possible precedence being set (assuming her connections enable bet [her] to avoid indictment) should have every self-respecting journalist ready to tattoo this story to their collective foreheads! How is this not daily headline news? What incident in journalistic history even comes close to comprising such a threat to unfettered journalistic freedom?
Even in an article that purports to take the media to task for its bias, you leave out of the equation the most blatant and obvious example of why she is utterly unfit to hold public office. You failed, yet again."

Helen Davis Chaitman; partner of Chaitman LLP. Swindled by Bernie Madoff, Chaitman has written an expose on the corrupt association of JP Morgan and the others intimately involved with the largest scam in U.S. History. Two other individuals were let off and kept billions of dollars while so many others lost their fortunes. One revelation in reading a portion of her book was that New York Senator Charles "Chuck" Schumer made frequent fundraising visits over the years to Bernie Madoff's office. When asked by the media about it, his comment was "no comment." This was particularly interesting in that the letter to Preet Bharara went unanswered and it was Senator Chuck Schumer who recommended Bharara to President Barack Obama.

Vance, Jr. and got no response from him either. Bharara with all his self aggrandizement about no one being too famous or too powerful for justice to prevail did nothing when obviously there is so much corruption surrounding the New York Primary.
How is it that with 20,000 leaked emails proving that the DNC undermined Bernie Sanders campaign, which Progressives have known for months and the media ignored, and although Debbie Wasserman Schultz is booed off stage at the Florida Delegates Breakfast MSNBC puts caption as DWS is cheered, Hillary Clinton makes Wasserman-Schultz the honorary chair of her 50-state program and President Obama praises her for having his back and called her to express his gratitude?
