Even the Animals Flock to Bernie

By Meryl Ann Butler

In this amazing video clip from a Sanders rally in Portland, OR, a little birdie seems to endorse Bernie. The look of joy on Bernie's face as the little bird alights on his podium is delightful, and certainly provides insight into Sanders' soul.

In this amazing video clip from a Sanders rally on Friday in Portland, OR, a little birdie seems to endorse Bernie. The look of joy on Bernie's face as the bird alights on his podium is delightful, and certainly provides insight into Sanders' soul.

Symbolic?

In contrast, a behind-the-scenes video of a bald eagle attacking Trump during a photo shoot was released by Time Magazine in December. The eagle's name? Uncle Sam.

Symbolic?

In addition, Trump is currently facing legal action for using a copyrighted photo of an eagle (not the one that attacked him) without permission from the owners. Trump seems to have a very different relationship with the animal kingdom.

Of the video of Sanders' winged visitation, Cent Uyghur of the Young Turks says, "It's almost like the guy is Noah...the animals are starting to come to him...the animal's hurt and he is here to rescue us - to save the planet...it did feel symbolic, it really did..."

Some comments from both the Facebook post of the video clip by Occupy Democrats and the YouTube post of the video by The Young Turks:

Being there, the whole situation felt magical! The bird felt the Bern

Bernie Sanders is the fairest of them all.

Faux news is going to blame Obama

even mother nature loves bernie

You know, with his reaction... Vote for the guy. Seriously, look at how human and kind he was. That's what is needed as president.

It was like a magical moment, wasn't it? These kind of things cannot be prepared or manufactured. Too perfect. And it's SO bloody nice too after all the bullshit we've seen in this election... FINALLY something beautiful.

This makes me so happy every time I see it. The hope and love in that crowd is inspiring.

ironically an animal provides the most human moment in this circus of primaries

Trump Tower gets hit by lightning, birds are showing Bernie love. If there is a god, she's voting for Bernie Sanders.

I guess this is "GODs" first tweet

His laugh is the laughter of someone who is at complete peace with himself, such open, wholehearted, wholesome free laughter.

I got emotional too...It's just such a precious and symbolic moment of purity in the midst of all the chaos and ugliness of the past year.

In a thread discussing what the response might be to a similar event at a Trump rally:
(Trump would have said) "Somebody beat the crap out of that stupid bird. He's probably a mexican muslim and isis sent him to destroy us that i can tell you. I know many birds that are tremendous but this one is a threat. That i can tell you"

We need to build better ceilings!

Shoot that damn bird, I'll pay your legal fees.

And right after the visit from the little bird, Bernie swept the next five states. Could it be a sign that voters are flocking to him?

I'm betting' on it. And besides, a little birdie told me.
