So why are a throng of former NSA and CIA officials, along with their paid courtesans, the political reactionaries, howling about ISIS attacks on American soil, just as Reagan and his horde of intelligence officials did back in 1986?

Introduction

Few people will remember the speech by Ronald Reagan in 1986 when he warned of an imminent attack on US soil by the Sandinista government. Of course this was lie-based, fear-rhetoric aimed at garnishing support for an illegal invasion of Nicaragua and increased military aid to the ruthless and vicious Contras, created by the US. Thirty thousand Nicaraguans died at the hands of the US and their terrorist surrogates, while our masters glared down at us with laughter pouring from their obese jaws as the buzzards of war ascended.

Take a look at what the 'Great Communicator' had to say:

Address to the Nation on the Situation in Nicaragua, March 16, 1986

"My fellow Americans:

"I must speak to you tonight about a mounting danger in Central America that threatens the security of the United States. Using Nicaragua as a base, the Soviets and Cubans can become the dominant power in the crucial corridor between North and South America. Established there, they will be in a position to threaten the Panama Canal, interdict our vital Caribbean sea-lanes, and, ultimately, move against Mexico. Should that happen, desperate Latin peoples by the millions would begin fleeing north into the cities of the southern United States or to wherever some hope of freedom remained.

Gathered in Nicaragua already are thousands of Cuban military advisers, contingents of Soviets and East Germans, and all the elements of international terror -- from the PLO to Italy's Red Brigades. Why are they there? Because as Colonel Qadhafi has publicly exulted: "Nicaragua means a great thing: it means fighting America near its borders, fighting America at its doorstep" (http://www.reagan.utexas.edu/archives/speeches/1986/31686a.htm).

It seems that once again history is repeating itself and with a venal venom that can only make the average American cringe and tremble.

Mike Morell, former acting director of the CIA and Senators of both parties warn of ISIS attacks on American soil

Speaking of the ISIS, Lindsay Graham, a reactionary Senator and member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, told "Fox News Sunday" on August 10, 2014, that a well-funded, swiftly-strengthening organization, which has taken control of large parts of both Middle East countries, is a "direct threat to our homeland."

"Mr. President, be honest with the threat we face. They are coming" (here).

Reiterating the same message of fear and falsehoods, Rep. Michael McCaul, a Texas Republican who chairs the House Homeland Security Committee, was the latest Congressman to warn about ISIS carrying out terror attacks in America.

And earlier this month corporate California Democrat and the head of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Dianne Feinstein weighed in, reiterating that the ISIS could attack from within America:

"It has become clear that ISIL is recruiting fighters in Western countries, training them to fight its battles in the Middle East and possibly returning them to European and American cities to attack us in our backyard," she said in a statement in support of Obama's attack on the group stalled outside of Erbil in northern Iraq" (here).

U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) joined the chorus on August 22, 2014, stating that the Islamic State terror group (ISIS) is quickly developing a way to blow up a major U.S. city. The Senator, who serves as the ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said in an interview with KOKH-TV that the threat is real:

"They're crazy out there and they're rapidly developing a method of blowing up a major U.S. city. People just can't believe that's happening. They're crazy out there and they're rapidly developing a method of blowing up a major U.S. city" (here).

In an interview with former CIA operative Dr. Jim Garrow about a planned attack upon multiple shopping malls inside of the United States, Garrow stated that it would be similar in scope to what happened in Nairobi with the attack on just the one mall. Dr. Garrow stated that Nairobi was the beta test for what's coming to shopping malls inside the United States, except for what is going to happen here, "will dwarf the Nairobi event" (here).

The timing of the announcements by the reactionaries, along with corporate Democrat Feinstein, is not ironic.

Mike Morell, now a CBS News plant for the American deep state and senior security correspondent for the 'Big Eye' and former acting director of the CIA, has been a frequent guest on CBS' Face the Nation, where he has disseminated the same CIA propaganda and misleading information about ISIS.

What is important is that Morell also works for Beacon Global Strategies, a DC consulting firm run by corporate Democrats which peddles its government connections to defense contractors. You can read about Beacon here.

Here is what Morell had to say, speaking on Face the Nation, on August 24, 2014:

"Over the long-term -- two and a half, three years -- we need to worry about a 9/11 style attack by ISIS," the former deputy intelligence director cautioned" (see video here).

The fear-based propaganda actually started even earlier, in June of this year, when speaking on CBS's "This Morning", former CIA Director Mike Morell told host Charlie Rose that the ISIS poses a grave threat to American national security.

Morell said ISIS is not planning to stop with conquering Iraq but their goal is to "set up that caliphate" adding "then it is to use that as a safe haven to attack the United States". Morell ended his menacing warning saying "this is a very big deal" (here).

So there we have it. Morell, who works for Beacon Global Strategies, wrote the melody for the reactionaries who sang his bellicose and fear based refrain, all within August of this year.

But there is more --- capitalizing on fear for profits.

Take the case of General Keith Alexander, who retired in March of 2014 from his dual role as head of the NSA and the U.S. Cyber Command. Alexander has since met with some of the largest banking trade groups in the US, stressing the 'threat' from state-sponsored attacks bent on data destruction as well as hackers interested in stealing financial information.

Alexander recently warned of banking attacks, stating:

"It would be devastating if one of our major banks was hit, because they're so interconnected" (here).

Joining a growing gaggle of 'cyber-consultants', the former National Security Agency chief is pitching his fear-based services for as much as $1 million a month to banks. The audience is receptively giddy. Under pressure from regulators, lawmakers, US financial firms are pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into building barriers against digital assaults and other attacks they state will come about (here).

As one example, Alexander offered to provide advice to Sifma (The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association that goes back to 1912) for $1 million a month, according to two people briefed on the talks (ibid).

So why are a throng of former NSA and CIA officials, along with their paid courtesans, the political reactionaries, howling about ISIS attacks on American soil, just as Reagan and his horde of intelligence officials did back in 1986?

There can be many hypotheses, but one question to be asked is: "Are these militaristic reactionaries preparing the American people for some 'pretext for war', a false flag event? Are they using the threat of an ISIS attack to make even more money for themselves and the firms they represent?"

Summary

Throughout US history, war mongers have used various forms of deception to trick their enemies and hoodwink the American people into going to war. Because public support is so crucial to the process of initiating and waging war, the home population is also subject to deceitful stratagems designed to garner their support for lies. The creation of false excuses to justify going to war is a major first step in constructing public support and opinion for such deadly incursions.

Perhaps the most common pretext for war is an apparently unprovoked enemy attack. Such attacks, however, are often fabricated, incited or deliberately allowed to occur. They are then exploited to arouse widespread and uncritical public 'sympathy' for the victims, demonize the attackers and build mass support for military "retaliation" and costly and deadly illegal wars.

David Stockman, hardly a 'liberal', 'conspiracy theorist', or man of the 'left' is the ultimate Washington insider who argues that pretexts for phony wars is an historical reality.

Stockman began his career in Washington in his youth and quickly rose through the ranks of the Republican Party to become the Director of the Office of Management and Budget under President Ronald Reagan. He served the Reagan regime at the time of 'the Great Communicators' warning regarding the Sandinistas.

After leaving the White House, Stockman had a 20-year career on Wall Street. He now writes a blog about crony capitalism and the crumbling US Empire.

On July 11, 2014, shortly before reactionary Senators along with Morell took to the airwaves to frighten the American public, Stockman posted at his site a history of 'false flag' operations carried out by the US military establishment to advance their agenda of invasion and carry out profit extraction by death merchants who traffic in such occurrences (here). The chronology is a must read.

The American people must be vigilant and on the lookout for such events as Stockman chronicles and not be duped by a virulent American military establishment bent on imperialism, war and profit taking. The elites, with buzzards on their shoulders, are bent on plucking at our wallets and our emotions with pernicious prevarications.

The year 2015 will be a seminal year for any such activities by the US military enterprise and the corporate sock puppet press will certainly be giving uncritical aid and comfort to those who carry out such outrageous pomposity -- just as they did when Reagan issued his false warning to the American people.
