Ukraine's Bandera Propaganda: It's All Putin's Fault

By George Eliason

Propaganda kills. Finding the sources of the propaganda in Ukraine is as bizarre as the propaganda itself. Would you trust an underage kid with with it? Ask Jen Psaki.

Everything is Putin's fault. Blame Putin"

As Ukraine totters on the brink of all-out war, from one insufficiently long cease-fire to another, Washington's tacit agreement for Kiev's resumption of hostilities against the breakaway republics in its southeast may be partly due to the fact that the information it relies on is being generated by a press officer who only just turned eighteen, yet appears to have been given free rein. This is borne out by a recent press release by the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Alexander Turchynov, admitting that Kiev''s security agencies systematically misinformed the country's leadership about Russia's possible military intervention, which never happened, in order to ramp up the situation.

"Our intelligence agencies reported about ten times a month that the Russian's had alrady chosen the time of their attack - usually it was at three or four in the morning. We sat in combat readiness at the command post... as the rest of the army prepared for war with the Eastern neighbor. But it didn't happen," Alexander Turchinov said in an interview with Novoye Vremya.

For months we've been hearing about Russia attacking Ukraine. Russia was at the border. The great Russian Horde was galloping over the border on bears. And for just as long we've been held spellbound by the pearls of wisdom dispensed by the always witty and well informed Jen Psaki, who assured us that the intelligence President Obama was acting on was coming directly and reliably from on the ground in Kiev.

For weeks, CNN, the Daily Mail and every news outlet from the Guardian to the Wall Street Journal and Yahoo kept announcing that Russia was going to attack, while we waited for Ivan to remember where the border was and cross it. Russia didn't cross the border, but the blitz stories continued anyway: Russia was attacking.

With every outlet piping in unison, it makes a whopper of a great story, until someone looks at the border. When NBC looked at the border , it came to the conclusion that Russian troops were invisible. While news agencies were retracting stories because they didn't find them, Secretary of State John Kerry and President Obama assured us there were troops at the border because they said so. But based on what Turchynov now says, real intelligence and hindsight tell us we've been ramping up sanctions on Russia for no good reason other than a guy building a career who wants your sons and daughters, husbands and wives to go to Ukraine and fight and die for Bandera so he can get a FaceBook like or two. More about him later.

If you are reading this, Obama's sanctions are hitting home in the US and you may be out of a job yourself soon for no better reason than Washington's super-secret sexy social media intelligence.

Sourcing Obama's Retarded Intelligence

Intelligence gathering in Ukraine has been a three-part effort. The US has the most formidable intelligence apparatus in the world, but apparently shut it off. Why use satellites, drones, or people you trust with binoculars actually pointed toward the border in question, when you can have people that want to start a war with Russia instead? Apparently the NSA, CIA, and other acronyms were busy looking through underwear drawers on and off the internet and couldn't be bothered. The EU, through NATO and the OSCE, have proven themselves to be just as unformidable intelligence-gatherers - relying on Kiev.

The Best Military Intelligence In Ukraine

Earlier this year, the head of Ukraine's SBU (formerly the Soviet KGB) Valentyn Nalyvachenko announced that Kiev would replace local and regional governments, police, military officers, advisers et al based on the new person having the "right ideology." This means a deep commitment to Bandera Nazi beliefs.

An example of the desired profile is Dimitri Tymchuk, whose Moskal finding abilities are becoming legendary. He runs a Military Blog, where he is depicted weariing an army helmet, a flak jacket and a palm tree to show how serious he is about intelligence. According to him, Russia invaded with tanks on June 13:

" If anyone still has any doubts that this is a blatant invasion by Russia, I would like to see this individual. It would be interesting to see what the embodiment of naivete looks like."

Mr. Tymchuk is the portal news stations in Ukraine go to for official information. On June 3 rd He called the victim of the Lugansk airstrike a victim of the Lugansk Militia. This "intelligence" made the rounds of every major publication. Look back at the White House statements:

May 15 th We are growing weary of these intimidation attempts. Putin has such a maniacal craving to instill fear in others that we're beginning to suspect that his complexes go far beyond harmless mental abnormalities.

The one nice thing about Mr. Tymchuk is that he is predictable. You can find a Russian soldier, tank, plane, or goat invading Ukraine on every social media page, under every bush, and in every report Kiev hands the US government thanks to his efforts. His no nonsense Bandera-inspired venom spewing anti-Putin rhetoric has made him a favorite of the intelligence services in Ukraine and a shoo-in for a BBQ invite in Arizona.

And yet, US officials are trying to convince the world that " Washington knows best what is happening in Ukraine." The problem is trying to prove Russia's interference. They've come to the point where even the State Department refers to social networking posts rather than the U.S.'s vast media resources.

At the April 21, 2014 briefing, one question to Jen Psaki says it all.

QUESTION: But you're not -- are you saying that the United States Government, with its great tradition of intelligence gathering and sources and so on, is now dependent on publicly traded photographs on the internet and Twitter and so on?

On April 29 Psaki said: "Our intelligence community tells me that Russia's intelligence and military intelligence services and special operators are playing an active role in destabilizing eastern Ukraine with personnel, weapons, money, operational planning and coordination. The Ukrainians have intercepted and publicized command-and-control conversations from known Russian agents with their separatist clients in Ukraine."

So despite the breathless headline, apparently Jen's boss, Kerry, was referring, as he did in public comments the night before, to information the Ukrainians gathered themselves.

QUESTION: Oh, so when he says intel has recorded, he was not talking about U.S. intel, he was talking about Ukrainian intel?

Febuary 6, 2014 MS. PSAKI: Well, I think I was pretty clear in answering Matt's question that I don't have any independent information on the origin of the YouTube video, but obviously, they were the first ones to post on Twitter about it, which is an indication. But again, I don't know -- I don't have any independent --

Collate Tymchuk's rants with Psaki's assertions and the pattern syncs. Yet even a pro-Bandera outlet like the Kiev Post take precautions that John Kerry, Barack Obama, and the EU did not. They put a disclaimer on everything Tymchuk writes.

Ukraine Youthful Exuberance or Nazi Youth?

Now, as promised, we come to Sviatoslav Yurash, a student at the University of Warsaw International Relations Program, whose true love was English. At the beginning of January, then 17 year old Sviatoslav walked onto the Maidan wanting to help. He managed to get an audience with the then three "opposition leaders" Klitschko, Tyhanybok, and Yatsenyuk and asked if he could run the international PR for Maidan. They agreed. Sviatoslav was immediately set up with an office, a staff, and went to work. Soon he became the Spokesperson for Maidan and "the" international media contact. The international press, from the Washington Post , NY Times , Daily Mail to Al Jazeera goes through him for interviews, stories, and translations. According to a 60 Minutes news feature, Yurash took charge of the entire media operation for the then opposition leaders, and ABC called him one of the leaders. Clearly, the media has been taken for a ride by an eighteen year-old!

This pro-Bandera youth has almost single-handedly worked to make Ultra Nationalist propaganda a Face Book "like" affair, his goal beubg to normalize it in the West. (He's decided to rewrite Bandera's genocidal history .) His office is located three floors down from Pravy Sektor, who don't let people they don't like up there. A Macleans reporter was able to go up to the 5 th floor escorted by young Yurash until they got to the NAZI ONLY sign"..

After the Ukrainian coup, young Mr. Yurash took up new digs, and could be seen introducing the new assistant Minister of Defense (Dimitri Yarosh) at press conferences, or standing behind him. Capitalizing on his new found fame within the junta this model of Nazi youth signed a contract with Andrei Parubi's Ministry of defense as the Official "International Press Secretariat" for the Defense Ministry of Ukraine "satisfying requests for assistance or information from foreign journalists." He writes the press releases and official information from the ministry distributed to foreign media. He also handles the social media Mr. Kerry is so wild about.

Gaining Experience in International Relations

A few months ago, as the entire world watched the Russians not building up troops on the border, Russia demanded proof from Ukraine for its claims. The response, an official letter from the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, was in English with "links" to social websites showing pictures of Russian troops.

Russia could not understand why the response was in English and why proof between countries no longer came from official sources like satellite imagery but from Facebook pages. But John Kerry, Marie Harf, and the always enlightening Jen Psaki were quick to defend the intel value of Twitter and Youtube. After all, this young man was providing Obama the propaganda he needed to start sanctions against Russia, quite an accomplishment for someone who is scarecely of voting age!

Propaganda Kills

The entire mainstream media in Ukraine is now based on what Dimitri Tymchuk and Sviatoslav Yurash say. There are no other sources in Ukraine providing information on what is actually happening in Donbass. News reports are filled with "terrorists" who must be ethnically cleansed, according t o Tymchuk. June 27 :

" While the ceasefire was in effect, ATO forces wasted no time, and a number of measures that will significantly improve our operations were taken. Our military are ready to continue cleansing the land of Donbas of pro-Russian and Russian vermin. The decision is up to the Commander-in-Chief."

Young people signed up for the National Guard or Military to fight the always invading Russian army they were convinced by the news were occupying Donbass. When they refused to fire on unarmed civilians, they were killed. Propaganda kills. Mass graves filled with soldiers are being found in Donbass

Kiev's only Hope to Win the War in Novo Russia (Donbass)

On June 28th president Poroshenko told the European Union that he could not win the war in the Southeast. This statement had a double purpose. First he wants EU support for the genocidal operation, as a layer of protection later on. Secondly, it is meant to light a fire under Pravy Sektor so they become even more active.

Kiev's Only Hope

Although it enjoys a 10:1 troop ratio, imports mercenary groups and foreign fighters, and disposes of vastly superior equipment, Kiev knows it can only win if Russia invades Ukraine. If the Russian army crosses the border, that would draw in the United States and NATO. Kiev could make short work of the ethnic cleansing, certain to never be tried for crimes against humanity.

By June 1st Kiev had lost over $150 million worth of military equipment.

Where are the weapons in Donbass coming from?

So far, the army of the breakaway republic is getting its weapons from Kiev itself. Despite all the hype and propaganda to the contrary, the weapons Novo Russia, or New Russia (the name adopted for the combined Donbass republics), is using were initially Soviet era weapons taken from local armories. The upgraded weapons were captured from military units and bases taken over during the conflict.

Russian Prime Minister Dimiti Medvedev put it this way: Kiev should refrain from asking the West for new and larger weapons. It is losing on average 150 troops a day plus equipment. At this rate the army in Donbass will soon have all the weapons, and what will Kiev do then?

Russia's main contribution to-date has been a humanitarian effort, caring for the close to 1/2 million refugees that crossed the border. If despite repeated provocations, Russia refuses to invade, what can Kiev do? Following is the translation of an official document leaked to the press detailing "Plan B."

General of the Army of Ukraine N.M.Litvinu

Dear Nikolay

After a closed meeting of the National Security and Defense of Ukraine , the President of Ukraine ordered stepped up anti-terrorist operations in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions to be completed in the near future. To do so, for two weeks, new units of the National Guard would be transferred to the area. In addition, Right Sektor in Donetsk and Lugansk agreed to provide additional troops. However, support for the separatists from Russia may prevent completion of the action. We need to hold a rally claiming arms are being supplied to militants and to publicize these facts in the West.

During a telephone conversation with the Acting Defense Minister, M.Koval agreed to hold mock seizures of weapons separatists allegedly received from Russia. He offered to enact 'skirmishes' between border guards and soldiers of the National Guard and the terrorists, thereby producing 'samples' of captured weaons that have clearly belonged to the Russian army. He has already started to prepare these sample weapons.

I ask you to select two groups of the most dedicated members of the Donetsk and Lugansk detachments, who will participate in this operation and stage a gunfight with the separatists. Video and photographing of these groups will be made by SBU. In agreement with the Acting Foreign Minister A.Deschitsey, video data will be transferred via the Foreign Ministry to the United Nations and the OSCE.

The US Media War on Ukraine Needs to End

The most threatening aspect of the war in Ukraine has been the way the MSM downplays the genocide. The New York Times, Forbes , Time Magazine have all published propaganda at the expense of their reputation. Forbes' piece for example describes the New Russia volunteers as drunks, extortionists, bandits and terrorists. The picture shows the Don Cossack volunteers from Kuban.

" The ATO (Anti Terrorist Operation) pits an army, albeit weak and undisciplined, against a few seasoned Little Green Men supported by largely drunken "volunteers." The "Little Green Men" behind the kidnappings, executions, torture, and human shields that characterize their operations in or around Slavyansk are a most unsavory lot."

The source material is from a UWC (Ukrainian World Congress) an organization that supports Bandera Kiev. The purpose of a piece such as this is to muddy the waters so it's not clear who is responsible. The article presents real facts, but it imputes then to the wrong party. Kiev doesn't want independent reporters, who are hunted down and killed in Ukraine.

About a week before the article appeared, three thousand Pravy Sektor moved from village to village north of Lugansk, looting shops and homes, thretening women and children in the streets. When a group of national guardsmen refused to take part in the operation, they were shot. The purpose of the Forbes piece is clearly to muddy the waters.

And yet, On Sunday June 1,, in a speech at the Maidan, Donbass Battalion Commander Semen Sementchenko called representatives of the Right Sektor "shameful cowards" who refuse to participate in hostilities. According to him, they harm the cause of restoring order in the Southeast. "Pravy Sektor are shameful cowards who actually never participated in the fighting, but for two and a half months robbed the local population. They engage in looting, robbery and extortion, and only know how to inflict punishment on civilians or frighten the police. The real enemy is too tough for them, "- said S.Semenchenko. Additionally, the battalion commander said that members of Pravy Sektor in the Southeast are working in collusion with local criminals and are on their payroll. "They are engaged in the redistribution of the drug market, collect metals in landfills and smash gambling machines in businesses of their competitors. "

Where the Media War Ends

You don't need to be more sophisticated than the New York Times, Washington Post, or ABC news to understand why US involvement in Ukraine is wrong. Now that you know, just be a little more savvy than the 18 year old feeding them the misinformation and hold their feet to the fire when he lies to them.

Case in point: In the last few days a few railroad bridges going to Russia and Belarus were blown up. Kiev reported that the militias in South-east did this. If you were hoping to get weapons, humanitarian aid, or had a good relationship with Russia; would that be a good move? People here are dying by the thousands because of the propaganda.

Depending on tomorrow's keystrokes or tweets by young Sviatoslav or Tymchuk, the US government may add more sanctions to Russia or God-forbid... That's not Putin's fault.
