The Real Heroes of Ukraine: a Chronology

By George Eliason

Today, the Ukrainian Ultra-Nationalist leader Dimitri Yarosh announced that the Ukrainian Right need no longer wait for elections. The Maidan revolution began with simple orders that were not reported in the news. They were to build an Ultra National State by these means: "Take reinforced hammers for construction of the future White Europe, though! Aim at the helmets.... Never say that we are for violence. We defend democracy.

The events that put the Maidan protests into full swing and led to the takeover by the new Kiev government were choreographed. This is made clear in Vladimir Kornilov 's article headed "I will prove to you that the pro-European Maidana heroes and the provocateurs titushki Bankovoj are one and the same...." After the Yanukovych government failed to sign the association agreements with the EU, Kornilov noticed a dramatic uptick in conspiratorial conversations at the ultra-nationalist forums he was monitoring.

On the eve of the first violent protests, the conversations took this tone: "It is better to take the tube pipe. It is better to hold and does not bend." "If a lot of commandoes come to attack, you need to throw paint." "A Molotov is better, if you have one." "A 2.4 inch pipe will not fail either. The optimal length is 0.9-1.1 meter." It was this insidious preparation that would the next day bring widespread condemnation for brutality on the Berkut, the now disbanded Ukrainian elite police force whose mission was to maintain order in the streets. The Ultra Nationalists were ready to resort to violence on November 29, before any violence had yet occurred.

The photo below was taken at Maidan that day.

The conspirators were also given instructions on how to dress and how to act the evening the students and reporters were beaten by the Berkut. "Take scarves, dark tones. Worse, but a valid option: Wear a medical mask...football pads. Take reinforced hammers for construction of the future White Europe, though! Aim at the helmets.... Never say that we are for violence. We defend democracy."

According to the official story, the Berkut were attacked by men in masks using sticks, bricks, and bottles. The record of the forum posts definitely supports that. The fact that Mr. Kornilov was writing about this, and that ultra-nationalists were gathering at Maidan before anything got out of hand, only enhances the credibility of his story.

The Real Maidan and Ukrainian Revolution

Late in the summer of 2013, Ukrainian ultra-nationalist leader Dimitri Yarosh made a video at one of his training camps telling his people to be ready for the revolution that was coming. The opportunity just needed to present itself.

On November 21, 2013 that opportunity came in spades, when the EU Association Agreement with Ukraine fell into shambles. Ever since, Mr. Yarosh has been pulling the strings of the world by means of the revolution he choreographed.

Given Yarosh's statement of intent, the timeline of events, and the dramatic changes in Ukraine made under the control of Yarosh loyalists, it is evident that the protests leading to the Maidan revolution were anything but spontaneous. They were in fact the product of a well-written script.

The following statement was printed at Kavkazcenter.com, a publication very friendly to Mr. Yarosh. It was taken from the Members Only section of the website operated by the ultra-right umbrella organization Pravy Sector (Right Sector). Notice the date of publication: November 23. This is one full week before the start of the actual Maidan protests that led to the revolution. Here is the statement as posted in the publication:

Publication time: 23 November 2013, 12:15

Ukrainian nationalists from S. Bandera Tryzub (Trident) group issued a statement  urging mobilization of its members in connection with a new betrayal of Ukraine by the pro-Moscow puppet regime of president Yanukovych. The statement reads:

STATEMENT OF UKRAINIAN NATIONALISTS

Yanukovych and his pro-Russian oligarchic criminal gang decided on November 21 to destroy the independence of Ukraine by drawing our state into a modern imperial project called the Customs Union.

In this regard, the General Command of S. Bandera Tryzub is officially authorized to declare the following:

1. The regime action for the implementation of internal occupation following a so-called pro-Moscow course is a betrayal of Ukraine's national interests and entails the destruction of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and therefore is high treason, which is punishable

2. Based on the provisions of the current Ukrainian Constitution (Article 17: "Protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, ensuring its economic and information security, should be the most important function of the State and a matter of concern for all the Ukrainian nation'), we hereby declare that the retraction of Ukraine to a modern imperial yoke is a declaration of war on Ukraine and the Ukrainian nation, and therefore needs active opposition.

3. In the case of so-called "Eurasian integration,' i.e. attempts to restore a modified Soviet Union, S. Bandera Tryzub announces large-scale mobilization of its members and supporters in order to effectively protect the freedom and independence of our Motherland.

4. We officially declare that if they continue to draw Ukraine into any neo-imperial Kremlin entities, we will take up arms and oppose by all available means the plans of the Kremlin and its Fifth Column, protecting the independence of the Ukrainian state.

5. We are aware that our actions to protect the sovereignty of the state will cause resistance from security forces of the regime and imperial Russian KGB organizations, and therefore appeal to our members and supporters to prepare for the conduct of a national liberation struggle by other, more effective, methods and means.

6. Our Organization S. Bandera Tryzub was not created for the sake of the organization as such, and therefore, knowing that during the occupation the struggle is carried out not only and not so much by legal means, we reserve the right to terminate the activities of Tryzub in the form it existed for the last 20 years. New struggle needs new methods and organizational approaches!

Death to the regime of internal occupation!

Glory to National Revolution!

Glory to Ukraine!

On November 30, 2013, the notorious attacks by the Berkut (Ukrainian National Riot Police) on students and journalists occurred. At some point in the future, when we can look back upon the Maidan revolution, the real chronology of events will be documented for history.

This event, which occurred on one evening of a revolution that lasted over two months, changed world history as we know it. Suffice it to say that real investigations will need to be conducted to get to the bottom of a number of horrific allegations surrounding Maidan.

After December 1, 2013, and onward from that date, the Berkut (the "Golden Eagle" Ukrainian National Riot Police) stood and stood some more. They just stood.

They relied on shields, tear gas and rubber bullets to keep the militant onslaught of enhanced Molotov cocktails, stones, and homemade grenades from killing and maiming their ranks. They have been demonized throughout the Western world for essentially standing still--even though other policing agencies would have quickly resorted to the use of deadly force under the same circumstances. Let's not kid ourselves otherwise.

Hundreds of the Berkut were hospitalized and tens were killed. They were never given orders to take out or use live-round weapons until three hours into the Maidan assault that ended with the overthrow of Victor Yanukovych. They were firebombed, shot at, hit with homemade grenades--all with no orders to fight back. The video below should be clearer than the propaganda. The maligned Berkut did not fight back for two months. They simply stood.

This video, recording events on December 19, 2013, shows the makeup of the then still peaceful protesters. Look very closely. Students may be following, but the militants are in charge. The officer in the video was killed when his head was smashed with a stone.

During the Maidan protests, scenes like this became the norm in regional cities across Ukraine. The propaganda justifying the revolution falls apart as fast as you expose it to the light. On the day the revolution climaxed, the world was horrified to hear about snipers massacring the revolutionaries. The revolutionaries cried foul for as long as they could. The "Heavenly 100" were made that day. They were heroes that died for a new Ukraine.

The propaganda machines in Ukraine, the US, and around the world screamed about the violence perpetrated against the protesters by the riot police, until the Catherine Ashton  phone call was intercepted and released, and showed otherwise. Both the shooters and the victims belonged to the same group.

100 Heroes Were Needed, So 100 Heroes Were Made

The video in English shows that the shooters came from behind the revolutionary line. The shots were fired from buildings controlled by Andrei Paruby . No one entered without his permission. He went on to become the Minister of Defense in Ukraine.

When Berkut police were captured during the day of the shootings, the Ultra Nationalists showed their hand and the hollowness of the countries that supported them. In one instance, a captured policeman armed only with a riot club was decapitated .

The supposedly heavily armed riot police could not even rescue a fallen comrade as he was killed with a stone. The Berkut at this point were targeted with live ammunition and had to retreat. A longer version of the footage shows that the felled officer was the second one killed within a few minutes' time. The first had been kicked unconscious by the protesters, before they lifted a stone up high and killed him with it.

On the night of their great victory, the Maidan revolutionaries rolled out the former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko to address the crowds. They then announced all the new ministerial appointments. Even the Catholic priests and clergy were present. When you watch the footage of all this again, notice the movement in the crowd. They captured Titushki! The rebels brought people in front of the new ministers of Ukraine. All of them were watched and then removed for questioning.

After the Ultra Nationalists Won: the Victory Celebration

When you watch this footage , think about the fact that the entire new "moderate" government to which both the US and EU are giving billions of dollars is now passing almost directly into the hands of the extreme nationalist Dimitri Yarosh.

The new ministers and Yulia Tymoshenko watched as this Berkut (Riot Policeman) walked in under his own power. Part of the footage is redundant, but necessary to fully comprehend what is going on. I left out one set of video footage only. The picture below is from the clip that shows the man no longer even struggling. He has been beaten to the point of death with clubs and boots.

Once again: This was done directly in front of Yulia Tymoshenko and all the new ministers as they congratulated each other on their victory. You can see the stage. You can see and hear them celebrating. You can hear the last thing this man heard: Bandera leaders are speaking and singing the national anthem in victory. Slava Ukraina! Slava Heroim!

In the last few seconds of the video transcript, medics are discussing what to do with the brutalized man:

Do we bring an ambulance? No, no ambulance. This Berkut is a prisoner? Not so fast". Ambulance? Ah! This is a Berkut? Captive! Let's carry him out on a stretcher (help him). It's a Berkut! No ambulance! Call the ambulance? No, No Ambulance. Throw him on the pile with the dead!

In the aftermath, the Berkut were forced to get on their knees and beg forgiveness from the new Ultra Nationalist Ukraine. Their actions did them little good. The Berkut that were taken to hospitals were not cared for, and in some cases not even fed. Others, along with their extended families, had their homes burned down or were beaten and forced to flee to the safety of Crimea. They have all been abandoned by their country, and many of the injured are still in hiding.

They are the true Heroes of Maidan.
