Sleep Help: Reorganizing Your Brain to Treat Insomnia
::::::::
The fine folks in the pharmaceutical industry see this as an endless market of desperate, hopeless people who are willing to turn a blind eye to the side effects, memory loss and out and out risk of death from long term use of sleeping pills for insomnia. At last count, the sleeping pill market reached 4.5 billion dollars per year in domestic sales.
A recent study, impeccably carried out, concluded that there is an almost four-fold increase in premature death from taking as little as 18 sleeping pills, not a month, but a year.
So as Americans desperately try to find solutions and answers to their insomnia, there is a little known treatment gaining ground that uses a non-drug, non-invasive brainwave biofeedback treatment called neurofeedback. The treatment reorganizes and balances the bio-electrical aspects of the human brain to "re-set" the sleep architecture in such a way that calms the brain of stress and anxiety, which in turn allows the brain to achieve restorative rest. The beauty of neurofeedback, as opposed to sleeping pills, it that there is an end-game. On average, after 20 sessions, the brain is rebalanced and will maintain the gains after the cessation of treatment.
