I'm predicting another disaster in New Orleans
By Ben Marble, M.D.
Another flood will occur in New Orleans in the not too distant future and here is why...
::::::::
I have seen zero coverage in the mainstream media regarding the fact that the New Orleans levees will not be up to pre-Katrina strength until June of 2007. Anyone who lives in this region knows that torrential downpours for several days in a row are common especially in the late Spring and Summer. Perhaps we should do an 'anti-rain dance' and hope for a drought until June of 2007 while the government takes it's sweet time rebuilding the levees? Still that is highly unlikely to stop the rain from coming so basically as soon as we have another heavy rain New Orleans will flood. The only question is how bad it will flood? It could be 2 feet, 4 feet, or perhaps 12 feet deep when this happens. Only time will tell. Stay tuned to the weather in New Orleans and remember who warned you.
