Immigrants washed up on the shore

Like plastic water bottles

And just about as welcome.

The candidates were selling excrement.

Words were being changed

At a feverous pace

To confuse and dismember intelligence.

It was being proven

That the only way to move forward

Was to go backwards.

Science, canceled.

Put on the back burner,

And feelings elevated to facts.

The unborn have formed advocacy groups

To market contraception,

But are being stifled

By the self righteous.

Most of the country

Incarcerated,

To protect them

From underemployment.

Birds, falling from the sky

Like bombs;

They refuse to fly

Because of visibility problems,

And the flu.

The elections, canceled again;

And the words "income" and "disparity"

Purged from the language

For preventative measures.

The chickens

Home to roost

Promptly roasted

And turned into cacciatore.

All's right with the world

And left

Banned.
