Our country is in danger of financially imploding if this debt ceiling is not raised  (done seven times without a peep under W, and 17 times under Reagan, by the way).  Raising the ceiling only allows us to pay our current debts, 60% of which is to our selves in the form of Treasuries.  10% to China.

This is a single issue and should be done with a clean bill, as has always happened in the past.  If it does not happen, one of the repercussions will be that interest rates will rise as we will have lost the full faith and credit of our nation around the world.  Then our debt increases markedly because of all that extra interest.  Taking us down to win future power is disloyal, to say the least.
