Just when a lot of knee-jerk "the Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend" activists and pundits in the US and elsewhere were starting to believe their own delusions that Gaddafi really is their poster boy against evil American Imperialism after all, this had to happen to put yet another another crack in the Potemkin Village stage-set called Tripoli that masks the reality of life under Gaddafi, the self-proclaimed King of Kings of Africa:

Of course there are going to be those few who will claim that she is just an actress feigning all this abuse, or maybe "a crazy woman", but that makes about as much sense as the Coast Guard declaring that a drowned stiff with his hands shackled behind his back and an anchor tied around his feet committed suicide. TRIPOLI -- A distraught Libyan woman stormed into a Tripoli hotel Saturday to tell foreign reporters that government troops raped her, setting off a brawl when hotel staff and government minders tried to detain her.

Iman al-Obeidi was tackled by waitresses and government minders as she sat telling her story to journalists after she rushed into the restaurant at the Rixos hotel where a number of foreign journalists were eating breakfast.

She claimed loudly that troops had detained her a checkpoint, tied her up, abused her, then led her away to be gang raped.

"Look at what Gadhafi's militias did to me," al-Obeidi screamed with tears in her eyes, pulling up her coat to show blood on her upper leg in the restaurant.

After being intimidated by security men and hotel staff, who also beat journalists trying to interview her, she was eventually bundled into a car and driven away. (FULL ARTICLE CONTINUED HERE)

I am a student of history, religion, exoteric and esoteric, the Humanities in general and a tempered advocate for the ultimate manifestation of peace, justice and the unity of humankind through self-realization and mutual respect, although I am not a pacifist, nor do I believe in peace at any price, which is no peace at all but only delays inevitable conflict. There are times when the world must act. Planetary consciousness is evolving, but there are many retrograde forces that would drag us back down.
