The serious truth seekers among us hear it all the time: "Oh, you're one of those conspiracy theorists". It's pretty much the standard response of shameless Bush defenders and other pseudo-patriots; people who avoid legitimate quests for the truth like the plague, either for fear of what they might reveal, actual belief of what they will reveal, or because they require actual time and effort to execute. In today's lazy, impatient world, it's much faster and easier to attach an imaginary negative stigma to the word and file it away with all the "crazies" who actually have the nerve to take their responsibility as American citizens seriously.

What are these anti-truth people going to do when averting their eyes, turning a deaf ear, or seeking solace in their creature comforts no longer works? What are they going to do when they actually have to deal with some shocking, stunning, unbelievable reality that their self-imposed ignorance and selfish apathy made possible? Will they close their eyes and try to wish it away? Will they turn and run? Will they be able to?

No good American wants to believe that today's undeniable reality could ever come to pass. But it has, and the urgency with which we must act cannot be overstated. It is time for all good Americans to put aside the politics and come together for their country. We must stop saying "No way. Didn't happen. Won't happen. Can't happen. Not here. Not in my country". There is far too much at stake.

If we are successful in the effort to save our democracy, we can have the political arguments later.

UNCOVERING THE 9/11 REALITY
"Conspiracy" is a real word, defined by Merriam-Webster as "to join in a secret agreement to do an unlawful or wrongful act or an act which becomes unlawful as a result of the secret agreement".

Webster also shows several varying definitions for the word "theory", the first of which is "the analysis of a set of facts in their relation to one another."

With that in mind, this article will focus on a set of relevant facts, analyze their relation to each other, and from that analysis draw a reasonable conclusion. I would strongly urge anyone who disagrees to share his or her own reasonable conclusions, along with the facts that you believe support them.

I do not expect anybody to blindly accept what I say as the truth without doing his or her own research. In fact, I would seriously urge you do the homework and find out for yourself. Many supporting links appear at the end of this article, but don't rely solely on them. Get out there and do some real digging. Put your politics aside. Corroborate facts. Work with an open mind. Seek the truth, regardless of how ugly it may appear, because no bad situation can be made better without it.

IMPERIAL ASPIRATIONS
In September of 2000, the neo-conservative Project for the New American Century issued a report titled "Rebuilding America's Defenses", in which they detail their plan to utilize our superior military power to lead an expansion of America's political and economic control to a worldwide level. From this report comes the following quote: "Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event - like a new Pearl Harbor." All this information is readily available on their website.

Prominent members of the Project for the New American Century include Vice President Dick Cheney, his former chief of staff I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby (currently under indictment for perjury and obstruction of justice in the CIA leak case), Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, former assistant Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz (who now heads the World Bank, as appointed by George W. Bush), and Florida Governor Jeb Bush, the president's brother.

Cheney, Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz are the same guys who in the 1970's managed to convince the Ford administration (Cheney was Ford's chief of staff, Rumsfeld was defense secretary) and America that the Russians had super-secret, undetectable submarine technology that they could nuke us with from just off our own shores before we even knew what was happening, and that we needed to dramatically jack up defense spending to guard against the threat. Playing despicably on America's worst fears (sound familiar?), they actually said that the fact that they could not prove their claim was, in fact, proof that the nuclear subs existed. The CIA said they were full of it from the beginning, but the three stooges still convinced the administration to sign off on their plan. The CIA was eventually proven right, but not before the defense contracting industry to which the stooges were (are) so well connected made a LOT of money helping to defend America against a nonexistent threat.

Thom Hartmann wrote an excellent piece for Common Dreams that details how Cheney, Rummy and Wolfie are up to their old tricks again, which you will find a link to at the end of this article.

THE NEW PEARL HARBOR: FACTS
During a speech at the United Nations in the wake of 9/11, Mr. Bush warned us all to ignore "outrageous conspiracy theories" about the tragic events of that day. The official story, however, is itself a conspiracy theory: A bunch of angry young Middle Eastern men, nearly completely inexperienced as pilots of any kind of plane, led by someone hiding in a cave in Afghanistan, were able to hijack four major airliners, avoid the most sophisticated air defense system in the world (which 67 times over the previous year had immediately scrambled fighter jets to intercept commercial planes that had strayed off course), and strike three of four targets in New York and Washington DC.

As PhD David Ray Griffin points out in an examination of the events of 9/11for "Scholars for 9/11 Truth" (which you will find a link to at the end of this piece), "The mark of a good theory is that it can explain, in a coherent way, all or at least most of the relevant facts and is not contradicted by any of them. A bad theory is one that is contradicted by some of the relevant facts. An outrageous theory would be one that is contradicted by virtually all the relevant facts."

For historical perspective: In July of 1945, a B-25 bomber struck the 79th floor of the Empire State building in heavy fog, killing 14 people and causing a million dollars (1945 dollars) in fire and structural damage. The building did not collapse.

The World Trade Center towers were designed to withstand the impact of a fully loaded 707 (the biggest plane at the time, slightly smaller than the 9/11 planes), and had multiple redundancy built into their framework, meaning that the remaining steel columns would easily bear the load of any lost in the event of a plane striking the building. In fact, WTC/Port Authority construction manager Frank DeMartini believed the buildings could have withstood multiple plane impacts. In a January 2001 interview, he likened an airplane striking the World Trade Center to a pencil being poked through a screen. Sadly, Mr. DeMartini died in the towers on 9/11.

Kerosene (jet fuel) has a peak burning temperature of 1800 degrees, in optimal conditions with all the oxygen it can get.

Steel does not begin to melt until it reaches a consistent temperature of 2500 degrees for an extended period of time.

The majority of fuel from each the fully loaded planes that struck the World Trade Center was consumed in the massive fireball resulting from each initial impact.

The black smoke so prevalent in the WTC towers on 9/11 indicates a fire that is starved of oxygen, and therefore nowhere near the peak burning temperature of jet fuel, much less hot enough to soften steel.

Steel is an excellent conductor of heat, meaning that even structure threatening temperatures focused in a single area would be spread throughout the entire steel framework of the building, greatly reducing overall temperature.

Even though some have burned for days, no steel framed building anywhere in the world had ever collapsed because of fire before 9/11, and none have collapsed because of fire since 9/11. Yet WTC 2 collapsed 56 minutes after being hit by Flight 175, and WTC 1 collapsed 102 minutes after being hit by Flight 11.

Each of the Twin Towers stood completely still until the moment they began to collapse. There was no indication that fire had weakened the steel frame of the buildings to the point that they were near collapse (no sagging or bending steel), as would be expected in the event of a total steel-framed building collapse induced by fire (which, again, had not happened prior to 9/11 and has not happened since). They fell in one swift motion, straight down, at freefall speed. One hundred ten floors in ten seconds. That's better than ten floors per second, which is physically impossible without the use of explosives. In a true pancake-style collapse, the falling portion of the building would encounter at least some resistance from the still intact floors below as it fell. In the case of the World Trade Center Towers, there was no resistance. The buildings fell at the same speed as an object dropped in open air from the same height would.

There were multiple reports of explosions inside the Twin Towers before they fell, from firefighters and other people who were in the buildings and lucky enough to make it out. There were also several accounts of explosions in live news media coverage that day. Firefighters who entered the lobby of WTC1 shortly after the plane hit 80 floors up found ground level windows shattered, huge marble wall facades lying on the floor and a fine dust covering everything. There was no sign of fire or scorching. It appeared to many as if a concussion bomb had gone off in or near the lobby.

Large steel beams, which don't exactly float on air, were tossed horizontally up to 700 feet (more than the length of two football fields) away from the falling WTC towers.

Quoting firefighter Joe Casaliggi, from Engine 7, who worked at Ground Zero after the buildings collapsed:
"You have two 110 story office buildings. You don't find a desk. You don't find a chair. You don't find a telephone, a computer. The biggest piece of a telephone I found was half of the keypad, and it was about this big (holds thumb and index finger about 2 inches apart). The building collapsed to dust".

Is it really possible that a simple gravity collapse of a 110 story office building could turn everything inside it, including all the concrete, to dust?

Molten steel was still being removed from ground zero six weeks after 9/11, which is indicative of the presence of high-grade explosives in the buildings.

WTC7 collapsed late in the afternoon of 9/11, in exactly the same fashion as towers 1 and 2 had that morning, without having been hit by any airplane. There were a few small fires burning in the building.

Larry Silverstein, the leaseholder for the entire World Trade Center complex, admitted during a 2002 PBS documentary that they decided to "pull" (term for controlled demolition) WTC7 on the afternoon of 9/11. He has since tried to clarify his comments by claiming that when he said "pull it", he meant pull the contingent of firefighters that was in supposedly in the building shortly before the collapse.

Mr. Silverstein had owned WTC 7 since the late 1980's, and in July of 2001 purchased leases for the remainder of the complex (seven buildings in all, including the Twin Towers).

A 22 minute preview of a film about 9/11 by Alex Jones offers more detail on Mr. Silverstein and his connection to the horrible events of that day, as well as very compelling information on other aspects of the tragedy. You'll find a link to this preview at the end of this article.

The 9/11 Commission completely ignored the collapse of WTC7 in their final report. They also said that the core of each of the Twin Towers was a hollow shaft that housed elevators and stairwells. What they neglected to mention was that there were also 47 vertical steel box beams (each one on the order of three feet wide, over a foot deep, and made with ? inch thick steel) in the core of each tower that ran from the bedrock to very near the top of the building, at which point they were topped with steel i-beams that ran the last few floors to the top.

The 9/11 Commission held nobody accountable for the failure to protect America from the 9/11 attacks. 3000 people died and nobody in government got so much as even a slap on the wrist.

NO 757 AT THE PENTAGON
The physical evidence from the Pentagon is completely inconsistent with the crash of a 757. There is some photographic evidence, however, that a smaller plane and possibly a missile did indeed hit the Pentagon that day.

The initial hole in the building (the section that was struck stood for about 20 minutes before it collapsed) was about 16 feet in diameter, with fully intact windows directly above and on either side.

The Pentagon is 77 feet tall. The initial impact hole was on the first floor of the building.

A Boeing 757-200 is 155 feet long, 44 feet high (ground to top of the tail), has a wingspan of 124 feet and weighs over 60 tons. The engines alone are 8 feet in diameter and weigh 6 tons each.

The official story is that the plane was completely obliterated instantly on impact, leaving only tiny fragments. To believe this explanation, you would have to conclude that this complete obliteration occurred even before the engines, wings and tail hit the outside wall of the Pentagon, because there was no initial damage (before the building section collapsed) where these parts would have come into contact with the building. You would also have to believe that the nose of a plane that was completely obliterated instantly on impact was somehow able travel through three of the Pentagon's 5 concentric rings, punching neat, round holes through a total of 9 feet of steel reinforced concrete. There are some pictures of what is purported to be 757 wreckage inside the building, but these pictures do not explain why there is no damage to the outside of the building where the wings, engines and 44 foot high tail section would have hit.

Although there were at least three Virginia DOT cameras (I-395 runs right by the damaged side of the building), a gas station security camera and a Sheraton National Hotel rooftop security camera with a clear view of the side of the Pentagon that was hit, no footage from these cameras has ever been released. The FBI confiscated the Sheraton and gas station videotapes reportedly within minutes of the crash on the morning of 9/11. The Pentagon eventually released 5 frames from a parking lot security camera that they say shows the 757 impacting the building. These 5 frames can be seen in the Pentagon Strike flash presentation, which you will find a link to below.

CONCLUSION
The terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001 were planned and perpetrated by a rouge band of cold-blooded mass murderers within our own government, led by George W. Bush, Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Paul Wolfowitz.

These 3000 murders were committed to provide the fraudulent basis for perpetual war in the Middle East, designed not only to enrich defense contractor and oil industry cronies and the neo-conservative Bush cabal that favors them, but also to launch the world domination plan of the Project for the New American Century, of which Cheney, Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz are three of the most prominent members. Here at home, the Bush criminals have despicably played on America's fears of another 9/11 to advance the Patriot Act, which ultimately does nothing to protect us from terrorism. Bush's real mission with this law is to eliminate dissent by diluting our civil liberties to the point that people are afraid to say or write or read or listen to anything that could possibly have them branded a terrorist sympathizer (because "you're either with us or you're with them") and hauled off to jail. In addition to many other civil liberty-stripping features, the Patriot Act also grants Bush the ability to label anyone he chooses as an "enemy combatant", without proof, and hold them indefinitely, without charges, access to legal counsel or the ability to confront witnesses against them. And that's just one of a myriad of problems with the Patriot Act.

This illegitimate president has also illegally declared that he can ignore the laws of our country at his own discretion, as he has done since 2001 with his authorization for NSA spying on Americans without warrants, in the name of "protecting the American people". On April 20th, 2004 in Buffalo, New York, Bush claimed that "A wiretap requires a court order. When you think Patriot Act, constitutional guarantees are in place when it comes to doing what is necessary to protect our homeland because we value the Constitution." In fact, he had already been authorizing warrantless surveillance of American citizens on American soil for almost three years when he made that statement. This is absolute proof that he was lying and knew he was lying when he made the statement in Buffalo.

He has also made a habit of issuing written statements upon signing legislation that he thinks authorize him to ignore the law as he sees fit. This is exactly what he did with the McCain torture legislation, essentially granting himself the authority to continue authorizing the torture of detainees regardless of the law. He has issued, by some counts, over 500 of these signing statements since taking office in 2001.

The Bush administration is not interested in protecting us. The pathetic government response to Hurricane Katrina proved it. They're only interested in protecting themselves from us. They are certainly a bunch of lazy, ignorant, under-achieving, unqualified, power-mad cowards, but they're at least smart enough to know that a truly informed, active citizenry does not fit into their imperial fascist fantasy. They want absolute power to rape the resources of our country and the tax money of its citizens to advance their self-serving, murderous agenda, and they want us to be quiet about it.

Hello, Congress? Is anybody home? It's time to wake up and prove your relevance by exercising your oversight responsibility on the executive branch, or step aside for some real public servants that actually value the people and the country they are sworn to serve.

And it's time, NOW, for the people to remember that citizenship in a free, democratic society comes with the responsibility to demand accountability from the people we place in public service. Unless, of course, you would rather risk another 9/11 (or something far worse), engineered by the Bush administration, and the martial law and complete suspension of the Constitution that would certainly follow.

The truth is absolutely shocking, to say the least. But it will only get worse if we ignore it. We must act immediately to remove from office the murderous gang of political thugs that has hijacked our country, and see to it that they are punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Contrary to popular belief, Congress will act if they get the message loud and clear that the people want something done. Keep in mind that there are 535 people on Capitol Hill (House and Senate) and 300 million of us. They can be very easily overwhelmed with calls, faxes and emails. Regardless of whether or not you have a rep who is up for reelection this year, and regardless of their party, they need to hear from you. Repeatedly. We must tell our elected representatives in no uncertain terms that if they do not support removing the entire criminal Bush cabal from office, they will be considered complicit in its crimes, in violation of their oath of office, and they absolutely will not get our vote. We must only support politicians who truly understand that they are in Washington to serve the people and not themselves, that we must go to war only when any and all other courses of action have truly been exhausted, and that they must hold those who would do and have done us harm both politically and criminally responsible.
