With the release of a third raft of Wiki-leaks documents and the
response by most American politicians and media pundits, the public now
has a significant amount of data with which to assess the validity (or
otherwise) of what Wiki-leaks is doing, and the case appears to be
clear; via the Wiki-leaks documents, the world has been offered an
inside view of the extent of the pathology that has infected the
American body politic. In addition, anti-war activists and disgruntled
citizens the world over have been gifted a potent weapon with which to
redouble their attacks on US government mendacity. Let us make no
mistake, the contents of many of the documents constitute a direct
assault on the US government and its associated agencies, and their
release is a victory for free-speech and all those who, long ago, could
see the true nature of these self-styled 'leaders of the free world'.
All those who advocate truth, justice and true freedom must stand fully
behind the public's right to disseminate factual information concerning
the activities of government officials, and strenuously oppose any
efforts by any government to act in secrecy or inhibit in any way the
public right to know. At the same time however, a critical approach to
the contents of any and all leaked documents is essential.
The level of US government pathology revealed in the many of the
documents is extraordinary, and while such details may not come as a
surprise to many who have been watching carefully over the past 10
years, to have this pathology officially confirmed leaves no further
wiggle room. The US government is a rogue and fascist entity that seeks
to dominate the entire world by force in pursuance of its unbridled
greed. Lies, manipulation, bribery, treachery and treason are just a few
of the crimes of which both the Bush and Obama administrations are
guilty. Beside them in the dock sits most of the Western mainstream
media which was complicit in covering up the details revealed by the
documents and, even now, still seeks to either censor or capitalize on
them to push the Neocon's Imperial agenda.
In this respect, we must clearly recognise that, along with details that
expose US government pathology, there is a significant amount of US
government lies and propaganda in the documents, primarily pertaining to
Iran and the alleged threat it poses to the world. This is, of course,
to be expected when dealing with diplomatic cables from US embassies
given that they are generally staffed (in part) by CIA agents tasked
with finding facts to 'fix' around any given policy. Indeed, the cables
of which we speak can be seen as the 'raw data' that became the barrage
of US mainstream media headlines that have asserted the lie that Iran
and its nuclear ambitions pose a threat to the world. You are seeing
that same lie again, recorded in its original format in the Wikileaks
documents.
The fact of the matter is that Iran does not pose a nuclear threat to
anyone, and the reason is rather obvious, but we shall leave it to
former French President Jacques Chirac to spell it out:
In a recorded interview with the New York Times, the International
Herald Tribune, and Le Nouvel Observateur, on Jan. 29, 2007, Chirac said
about Iran's alleged bomb:
"Where will it drop it, this bomb? On Israel?" Chirac asked. "It would
not have gone 200 meters into the atmosphere before Tehran would be
razed [by any number of Israel's 400 nuclear weapons]." Thus, Iran's
possession of a nuclear bomb would not be "very dangerous."
That is not to say that a nuclear Iran would not pose a threat to the US
and Israel and a few corrupt US client states in the Middle East. It
certainly would, just not a threat to the American or any other people
other than the megalomaniacs in Washington. The acquisition of nuclear
weapons by formerly non-nuclear nations has, you see, the uncanny effect
of making the nuclear bullies think twice before issuing threats and
forcing them to resort to more covert and less effective means of
control and intimidation. If Iran were to manufacture its own nuclear
weapons, Israel would no longer be in a position to act with impunity
against the enemies it has made of most of its Arab and Muslim
neighbors. Likewise, the US would no longer be able to so easily subdue
the entire region through the threat of overwhelming force.
In summation: If you accept the veracity of the documents that reveal
the duplicitous manner in which the US government has sought to dominate
the world, you can safely assume that ANY documents that appear to
bolster US imperial designs are also lies. Just as you are duty bound to
support the truth in the documents, you are also duty and
conscience-bound to proclaim and denounce the lies.
