Candidate Selection process is more important than election process and unlike pulling a lever in a voting booth the names one chooses is a stacked deck. Black boxes, Money, Karl Roves and Lee Atwaters plus private corporate control of who is allowed to debate and who is excluded must be eliminated if America is to survive. What goes on behind closed doors is anything other than representative of Democracy.

The presidential candidate selection process of 2008 pushed two viable candidates to the front. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Despite the Media spin at no time was there a serious threat from the right wing.

The Question then became which one does the machine put to the forefront? Which one will best serve the desirable agenda? Both are controllable, both are electable, so what criteria will determine the winner.

First the only reason the dilemma had arisen was that the chance of putting another Republican in the white house after two terms of Bush was nil. Using Diebold wouldn't fly anymore. There had been way too much light shown on that bit of trickery with too much attention called to it.

Not even a repeated last minute decision of the Supreme Court ignoring the Constitution could put a Republican back in the White House. These being the facts the only choices left were grooming either an independent or a Democrat for the position.

An independent? The title itself tells it all, these folks can't be bought or controlled and the narrow scope of the American Voters thought process ruled that possibility out anyway. The only Option left was a Democrat with the two front-runners being Clinton and Obama.

Kucinch's platform was most in line with what the American Voters professed to want but he was short, not for sale and easily eliminated by the Candidate makers who knew the threat he would have presented to the corporate agenda.

Clinton was a known entity having shared the white house with Bill who did more to further the Right wing cause than most Republicans. On the face of things she was really the preferred candidate, but Obama was a new face and the voters were demanding change. He had Charisma, a silver tongue and was being groomed for a properly timed entrance.

While the fact of his mixed race would not sit well with America's abundant right wing racists in the long run this would be the deciding factor in the decision to put the money on the "Dark Horse." His selection would go a long way toward bringing Afro-Americans into voting booths, many of who registered for the first time specifically to vote for Obama.

Hillary's ego would have to be considered but she is a long term Washington Insider and could be made to see the light. A high placed cabinet position would go a long way toward appeasing her perhaps with the promise of "Next Time."

As for Obama's ego, it would lead him right into the paddock where he would best serve the corporate agenda. After all this is to be a one term President. The Corprastocracy wants a Republican in the White house and the election of a Democrat was a last resort brought about by the displeasure of the Public with eight years of Bush/Cheney.

Hillary could obviously be controlled but only to a point and getting rid of her after one term might prove impossible.

On the other Hand with an Afro-American in the White house it would be a simple matter to bait and incite the racist element of the right wing and some of the so called left as well to cripple his administration.

Media labels continuously thrown out like "Muslim, Terrorist, and African Born" rather than Hawaiian etc could keep the fires burning under the "N" word long enough to destroy any chance of a second term for Mr. Obama.

It would then be a simple matter to replace him with a Palin/Coulter/Beck/Limbaugh selection like Newt Gingrich or worse and in the process polish off Democracy once and for all. The entire process is a contradiction to, "you can't have your cake and eat it to."

Mr. Obama continues to do the bidding of Wall Street, the Banksters, the Medical Insurance Mobsters and the Corprastocracy handing the left one frustrated disappointment after another while inciting the right who can only see BLACK to fever pitch insuring the next inhabitant of the White house will be a WHITE Republican.

After 60 years I still retain enough naivete- to believe world peace is possible but being a realist have to face the fact that I won't be around to see it. I have known a lot of people in my life, lived in numerous states, visited most, attended 23 schools, been married and divorced 5 times, had too many jobs, cars, & other meaningless possessions to keep track of, fathered 3 children and made more mistakes than you can shake a stick at. Someone once noted that God doesn't judge us by our degrees or diplomas but by our scars. Most of mine were probably self-inflicted but maybe God will overlook that instead of me.
