These 21 A%^holes Can Stop the War, Vote is on Thursday, One-Click Email

By Ralph Lopez

Yes, pretty rude, but I'm in no mood to be polite. People I love stand to be shipped out this year to Afghanistan if this war doesn't end so I guess these congress-persons' tender feelings will have to be secondary. I can always apologize later. The young Americans killed, however, will not get the chance to live their lives later.

Tomorrow (Thursday) is the vote on the war funding supplemental for Afghanistan.
Save yourself about $35 billion tonight. In 2009, House Progressives had two chances to use the "power of the purse" to end the wars by opposing the $97 Billion War Supplemental. On May 14, 51 Progressives voted against war funds. But on June 16, when 32 true Progressives voted No (1) and we needed just 7 more Progressives to end the wars, 21 sorely disappointed us.

They were: Yvette Clarke, Steve Cohen, Jim Cooper, Jerry Costello, Barney Frank, Luis Gutierrez, Jay Inslee, Steve Kagen, John Lewis, Edward Markey, Doris Matsui, Jim McDermott, George Miller, Grace Napolitano, Richard Neal, James Oberstar, Jan Schakowsky, Mike Thompson, Edolphus Towns, Nydia Velázquez, and Anthony Weiner.

These 21 Progressives can redeem their 2009 pro-war votes now by voting against the $33 Billion War Supplemental for 2010.

YOU CAN SEND A MESSAGE TO ALL 21 OF THEM WITH ONE CLICK, COURTESY OF DEMOCRATS.COM, HERE.

Then follow up with after-hours messages to their offices through the 24/7 Capitol switchboard: 202-224-3121

Go right down the list, it's only 21. If you are lucky enough to have the right kind of schedule (a weekday morning off), go to your own congressman's district office in the morning and sit there, preferably with a couple of friends. Instruct the staffer to call the DC office to report to the congressmen that there are people in his district office demanding he vote no on the war funds. Tell them you will sit there until the vote comes through. This tells them people back home are paying attention.

Let them know they can't start screwing with your Social Security while they keep funding wars!!!
