The Islamic Republic of Iran, is this the beginning of the End?
By Abbas Sadeghian, Ph.D.
The green movement is turning to the green revolution .The current situation is not sustainable and the future is totally unpredictable

At the end of this summer the Green Revolution looked all but dead. Khamenehee's sadistic murderers took the concept of savagery to a new limit. There was an abundance of e-mails from Tehran showing such horrific events that I simply could not post them. The reports from political prisons were horrendous. Beside the usual methods of torture and sadistic behaviors that we have got accustomed to, there were many reports of rape (male & female), as well as show trials of high level officials of the Islamic Republic. The founders of the Islamic Republic of Iran were getting some of their own medicine. They were tortured to the limits of their life and the government was using blatant savagery to terrorize the public.
The summer uprising was sequestered. The only hope was the opening of the universities. We were hoping that the students would ignite the uprising much like the school year of 1978 which brought the Shah's government to its knees and by the end of the winter of 1979, 2500 years of monarchy was over. This time the enemy was savage and prepared, therefore the hopes were small. It started a little late and the thugs hit them hard, but it did not stop .The fighting is continuing every day, demonstrations are spreading like a bonfire. Every major city has experienced some kind of a mass demonstration. A few days ago the holy city of Qum, which is the origin of the Islamic Republic, experienced the largest anti-government demonstration ever .The government cannot stage a viable pro-government demonstration. In a recent trip to the city of Shiraz, Ahmadinejad was not able to gather a real crowd of supporters, there were many empty seats, and those present were carrying banners demanding jobs.
There is a significant split among the ruling clergy. Although the supreme leader Seyyed Ali Khamenehee refers to himself as an Ayatollah, he really is not. He is writing religious decrees without proper qualifications. The real Ayatollahs are not supporting him anymore. His blatant cheating in the recent elections gave the best excuse to his enemies. Currently there are nine grand Ayatollahs and only one of them is supportive of the government. They are afraid that Khamenehee is causing irreversible harm to the religion itself .The grand ayatollahs are correct in their assessment. We are hearing the types of insult to the mosque that we would have never heard in the past. The slogans in the streets are the same everywhere "Death to the Dictator" and everybody knows who the dictator is.
The Green Movement is turning to the Green Revolution .The current situation is not sustainable and the future is totally unpredictable. However, this is a good time to say "you do not win wars without fighting".
I was born and raised in Tehran Iran .I came to the U.S in 1976 to study psychology. With time decided to hang my hat here and became a U.S. citizen.
My areas of interest in psychology were varied. However I mostly worked with stroke patients. I minored in history and Anthropology in college. I practiced as a clinical neuropsychologist and as an assistant professor of psychology in Northeastern Ohio Medical University. I have written articles, books, and Invented treatments for serious neurological conditions. My last area of interest in neuropsychology was in research for treatment of hemianopsia.
I fought in Iranian revolution, Iranian politics.
I retired a couple of years ago and I spend my extra time playing Tar which is a Persian instrument. Tar is grand father of Guitar , but it is much more delicate and can play musical pieces that one can not play on Piano or Guitar.
The pleasures of life come from playing Tar ,reading history books, blogging and being with my family. The painful part of life is dealing with Iranian government and its supporters. I am an atheist , however , I respect freedom of religions.
I am a Democrat.
