In the air above Detroit, an educated young Muslim chooses suicide to fight unbearable injustice. If the public had been allowed to understand beforehand, what was being planned for Muslim nations that would eventually precipitate the blow-back of 18 mostly Saudi Arabians suiciding themselves on 9/11 as part of a continuing to war on America and its allies, this terror and the terror that provoked it could have been prevented.
::::::::
It was inexpressibly wonderful good fortune that
the explosives the young Nigerian Muslim tried to detonate on the
airplane above Detroit failed.
For some time now we are going
to hear about all the preventive security measures that should have
been in place, that will be in place in the future and the
inconveniences they will occasion for air travelers.
It seems this Nigerian
young man had let it be known that he was very upset about the American
invasion of Iraq among other things. So much so that he was willing to
engage in promoting violence against Americans. This, some good amount
of time before he brought himself to think to destroy a full American
passenger plane at Christmas time
The Nigerian newspaper This
Day reported on Saturday that Abdulmutallab's father, Umaru Mutallab,
had grown so distraught over his son's religious extremism that he
contacted US authorities about it in mid-2009. Citing family sources,
This Day said Mutallab reported his son's activities to the US Embassy
in Abuja as well as to Nigerian security officials.
The
suspect's father had headed the United Bank for Africa and First Bank
of Nigeria, two of the nation's biggest banks, retiring only last week;
was also the founder of the first Islamic bank in Nigeria, Jaiz
International Bank in 2003.
The Nigerian reports
paint a picture of a young man "radicalized by religious extremism and
preaching his views to fellow students."
So this boy from a
exceptionally successful family became "radicalized" for the "radical"
actions of Americans bombing and invading Islamic populations. And if
the extremism of American foreign policies in disregard for the
precepts of all religions, often crimes against humanity, had been
prevented by ordinary Americans who have no aggressive intentions
toward the people of other nations, then one can assume that no
religious extremism would have developed and been directed at America.
Then
young student Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab's religious belief would not
have become so extreme as to cause him to wish to sacrifice his life,
only just begun, to counter an extreme injustice that would not have
existed.
The collateral terror thrown upon innocent men, women
and children is always seriously explained by American military
spokespersons as inadvertent no matter how great the toll of human
life. This inadvertent terror has been, and is being, answered by an
overt terror response upon the men, women and children of America by
the infinitely less powerfully armed angry young men of Islam.
Obviously,
in retrospect, the simplest prophylactic to prevent such dedicated
homicidal violence against Americans would have been for Americans not
to have invaded and destroyed Iraq (twice) and not have brutally
castigated with death and destruction the whole nation of the people of
Afghanistan, though no Afghani has ever attacked the United States or
any other country. Likewise, not to have continually backed warlords in
Somalia before and after withdrawing U.S. forces, eventually replacing
them with the armed forces of its new ally and former enemy, Ethiopia.
And not to have bombed Lebanon, the Sudan, Pakistan and Yemen, nor have
funded repressive governments in Egypt and Jordan, which could also
cause young Muslims to get extremely upset. Maybe not to have
continually threatened Syria and Iran and not have overthrown the
latter's democratic government and funded, armed and aided Saddam
Hussein's eight year terrorist invasion of it. And perhaps not to have
funded and backed the sixty years of misbegotten Israeli ethnic
cleansing of Arab Palestinians and an inhuman occupation in defiance of
all United Nations resolutions.
All
this radical in the extreme U.S. foreign policy could itself have been
prevented but for the criminal conglomerate owned media cartel keeping
the American citizenry blind to the dangers inherent in such corporate
profit based extreme and hurtful programs world wide.
So if
the public had been allowed to understand beforehand exactly what its
government was planning to do in Muslim nations that would eventually
precipitate the blow-back of nineteen mostly Saudi Arabians committing suicide in order to kill Americans on 9/11/01 as part of a continuing to war
on America and its allies... all this terror begetting terror,
begetting terror in unending cycle, could have been prevented.
'An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."
