"Left Below"

"Left Below" is generally thought of as being a right-wing extremist Christian hypocrisy that Rove attached to W to steal red state moron votes. When you are in with a pack of morally challenged ghouls such as the rogues gallery that W has assembled "Left Below" means still being required to work for your blood stained booty. Gonzales has reached a stage of development that so many before in W's slimy crew has achieved.

The article "Bush Loyalist Helped Shape Signature Anti-Terror Policies" at

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/08/27/AR2007082701353.html

states "The resignation of Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales ends one of President Bush's closest and longest professional relationships, one in which an unflappable son of migrant workers served the president loyally through a period of escalating controversy over the legality of U.S. policies in the fight against terrorism. As White House counsel and later as attorney general,Gonzales, 52, approved the framework that guided the administration's anti-terrorism efforts.
He supported positions that were strongly backed by Vice President Cheney and other conservatives, but they were partly overturned by the courts and assailed by many scholars and human rights advocates."

Fredo "had little experience with much of federal law or national security matters. Many colleagues described him as a relatively passive participant in the sometimes acrimonious administration debates driven--and often won, after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks -- by Cheney's ideologically hard-line legal counsel, David Addington.... The suspicion that Gonzales was a disconnected figurehead while political officials decided events would resurface among lawmakers in the controversy over the prosecutor firings. But it was Gonzales's name that appeared at the bottom of some of the most controversial classified documents justifying harsh CIA and Defense Department treatment of U.S. detainees. These included legal memos that human rights advocates and even some senior military lawyers said had allowed torture and created the atmosphere for abuse at the Abu Ghraib prison
in Iraq."

It doesn't matter that Gonzo was incompetent-he, as well as W, are culpable! Gonzo's name is on the bottom line, but the buck stops with W.

The Supreme Court, packed by W's appointees ruled against Gonzales time and again. From the "tribunals were neither authorized by Congress nor required by military necessity" to calling the Geneva "conventions' detainee-treatment rules "obsolete" and thus revoking their protections from the detainees, Gonzo was shown to be an incompetent fool whose decisions were reversed. So did W's Justice do the right thing? "Gonzales and his deputies last fall persuaded Congress to raise the threshold for criminal prosecutions for violating the conventions, and to allow the military to introduce evidence from confessions obtained through "cruel, unusual, or inhumane" interrogations before 2005.
Congress is now discussing whether to change that law."

We don't know what crimes these power-obsessed thugs have committed under the pretext of W's unitary executive power.

Remember the start. Cheney has "Kenny Boy" writing the energy policy of the US as thugs in W's administration were abandoning Lay.

The January 11, 2002, From The Wilderness, article "Enron Exploding - May Connect to Money Laundering Home - May Connect to Money Laundering BIGGER BUSH ADMINISTRATION CONFLICTS OF INTEREST LOOM AFTER ASHCROFT RECUSES FROM ENRON INVESTIGATION" at

http://www.fromthewilderness.com/free/ww3/enron_money_laundering.html

stated "Even as Attorney General John Ashcroft today recused himself from involvement in any Justice Department investigation into the mushrooming Enron
scandal, larger conflicts of interest - potentially more damaging to the Bush Administration are becoming increasingly apparent. The conflicts involve the
Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Harvey Pitt and the head of Congress' investigative arm, the General Accounting Office GAO), David Walker. Both agencies are charged with investigating allegedly criminal behavior by the energy trading firm, once the seventh largest company in America, which has now become the single largest bankruptcy in world history and may soon become the largest financial and political scandal in American history."

Okay, so it was a few officials, not many. No--"Other Bush figures connected to or having a financial stake in Enron include Presidential advisor Karl Rove, U.S. Trade Representative Robert Zoellick (formerly on Enron's advisory council) and multi-millionaire Secretary of the Army Thomas White who is a former Enron executive. Lawrence Lindsay, the President's economic advisor, formerly served on an Enron advisory board. The newly elected Chairman of the Republican Party (RNC), former Montana Governor Marc Racicot, is Enron's former chief lobbyist with the firm of Bracewell and Patterson. Racicot has indicated that he will not sever his relationships with the firm and may continue to lobby as he leads the Republican Party. As RNC he has unobstructed access to all key decisions and votes made by Republican members of Congress."

Progressives might be accused of hyperbole when dealing with 43, but enough hasn't been said. "Catherine Austin Fitts, a former Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and a past Managing Director of the Wall Street investment bank Dillon Read noted that Enron's trading patterns, internet money movements and [other activities] were consistent with a large-scale money laundering operation.... "I will bet every last dollar I have that Enron was the largest laundromat of stolen and tax evading dollars in American history and that the Department of Justice's primary goal is cover-up --- to make sure that the money trail disappears forever."

W is trying to switch our attention from the sub-prime mortgage scandal. It probably originated with Cheney in a room with GOP "Pioneer" and "Ranger" scavengers cramped together figuring out ways to bilk the 99%. W wasn't included because then he could pretend that he didn't all of the "Kenny boys" in this scam.

His personal lawyer, otherwise known as the US Attorney General spat in the world's eye by calling some of the provisions in the Geneva Convention "quaint" in 2002. How does that happen in our land in which all laws are applied equally to the richest to poorest?

What will be W's legacy?
