Is America Doomed to Repeat History?

I’m not an expert on 9/11. I had my doubts about the “Official version” like many others, and I read many articles, some were a little hare brained, some made a lot of sense. I watched the History Channel’s Documentary and I admit I was “suckered” and even wrote about it. One of the comments I received when I tried to defend myself by declaring I was not a physicist was that “Energy in = Equals Energy out”. I can, with my retarded scientific mind understand that. It’s Newton’s law: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. When the comment that the jet airliner that went into the WTC caused 100 times the energy out, I was pretty well stupefied. You can’t argue with physics either.

That meant that there was either a very large bomb inside the jetliner, or in the building itself. May be it was something else that I don’t understand. All I know now, that after reading about who was behind this documentary, and how they got their information through deception and misrepresenting themselves, I will no longer trust anything I see on the MSM. Especially when they are discussing current or ongoing investigations on anything that the Federal Government is involved in. I realized a long time ago that the MSM has had a vested interest in keeping the Status Quo: That they are owned and operated by the same vermin that operate not for truth, but for profit. I have been humbled and I admit it, and I apologize to anyone that reads my articles, but I will say that I am not an expert on all the nuances of the attacks. I should have never been blindsided by the documentary (even though it didn't really answer all my questions and left many facts out).

I read an article link on OPEDNEWS.COM about “The White Rose Society” that operated in Germany in 1943. It is something that I encourage you all to read. It was entitled “Why the Germans Supported Hitler” and was reprinted by The Information Clearing House and submitted by Michael Bonanno. It is very similar to why Americans supported FDR during the Depression and why they support our government now.

Just as the young people of “White Rose”, we too must stand up and declare that we are wrong to support the current policies of this Federal Government. It doesn’t take an intellectual “leap of faith” to side with those that are against this war in the Middle East and the basic human rights in the Constitution and The Bill of Rights that have been taken from us by this administration, with the complicity of our own Congressional Representatives. The American People that live in this country today are ultimately responsible for letting this happen. Just as in Hitler’s Germany, there are those that refuse to think about it, or people that don’t want to get involved because they are afraid to speak their mind.

This is a sad commentary on America. The Vietnam experience is again repeating itself, but this time the stakes are much higher. If this President was caught breaking into the Democratic National Headquarters in the same way that Nixon’s cronies were caught, the government now could declare that they were looking for ties to “terrorists”. Thus, under the expanded FISA law, recently passed by Congress on the way to their recess, the government could not be held accountable. Is this the kind of government that Americans want to live under? Do you think that it’s OK? Is this what Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin envisioned when they put their lives on the line for their “certain inalienable rights”?

This country that we call America has turned its back on the basic tenants of our form of representative democracy that our founding fathers laid out so many years ago. We have become a “defacto dictatorship of the right”. We no longer have a clear line on separation of church and state or a working “checks and balances” between the three branches of government. What I’m writing is not new, I’ve been saying the same thing over and over for the last four years publicly in print. I’m still here, and I’m still writing. I probably have a hefty file in Washington, but probably no larger than the one I had during the Vietnam era when I was in the military and held a secret clearance. What I’m saying here is that they still can’t shut me up, and for those that worry about these things, yes, you can speak out.

The question is…for how long? We elected a new Congress, and while some Democrats have tried to hold this government accountable, they still have those in Congress that aren’t working for the American people. The Democrats running for President, in the top tier, are the same people that voted to take away your rights. Obama may have voted against the authorization for the use of force in Iraq, but that hasn’t stopped him from declaring that he would use nuclear weapons on al Qaeda in Pakistan. That is morally repugnant and a terrible misuse of power. Hillary Clinton has said she also would use a “nuclear first strike”. This isn’t just a prelude to Armageddon, it’s ethically and morally wrong. These ideas are repugnant and despicable, as are the people that made them. Why won’t the American people hold them accountable for their views? Are these people really an alternative to the Neo-cons in office now? You tell me.

There are so many glaring deficiencies in our foreign policy and so many distortions and lies, that you cannot believe anything that is said in Washington. In some respects it’s always been this way, but to the degree that is now is unprecedented. We are quickly becoming “The Fourth Reich”.

Hitler’s Germany was a culture that had gone from Monarchy under the Kaiser, to representative democracy, to a representative social democracy, to a dictatorship in the span of only 24 years. The German people were inured to taking orders from one man. We on the other hand, have had a representative form of democracy for over 223 years, since the Constitution was ratified. We have less of an excuse than Germany did for falling into the same trap. Instead of the Jews, we have the Muslims, in fact, they have taken both the place of Jews and communists as being the “greatest threat to mankind”.

The White Rose society spread this message to the German people in 1943:

In one of their leaflets, the members of the White Rose wrote, “We are your bad conscience.” They were asking Germans to rise above the old, degenerate concept of patriotism that entailed blindly supporting one’s government in time of war. They were asking German soldiers to rise above the old, degenerate concept of blind obedience to orders. They were asking Germans to confront openly the rumors of what German officials were doing to the Jews in the concentration camps. They were asking German citizens, both civilian and military, to make an independent judgment on both the Hitler regime and the war, to judge both the government and the war as immoral and illegitimate, and to take the necessary steps to put a stop to both.*
(ICH “Why the Germans Supported Hitler”)

We should be asking the same questions and demanding answers from this Administration, from Congress, and from the people running for President and other offices. The only one’s that I can think of that would be able to answer clearly and honestly would be Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel. We must hold our government and the people in it to a higher moral standard than we have. It is our duty as citizens, it is our duty as a people. This is the way I see it.
