While I have had tougher Christmastime's, I have never had a more depressing and dark holiday season. The things that I see happening and the things that I read about and hear about, make me believe that the entire planet is headed toward a kind of global mental meltdown. It's not like I haven't been paying attention and I'm just realizing that the planet is mentally ill, I've been very attentive. It's just that some of the things I'm seeing and some of the things I'm hearing are so far out of that old "bell shaped curve" you learn about in Psych 101, that I have trouble believing some of it.

Let me just mention a few things that have me thinking. First you have a Senator from Illinois(I did say Ohio, stupid me....it's all the same:)).
that all of a sudden, blasts on the scene, and he's the absolute "toast of the town". This guy hasn't done anything noteworthy except be tall and black. All of a sudden, for reasons that are completely beyond me, this guy that's only been in office two unremarkable years has got the entire mainstream media wondering if he'll run for the presidency. Why? Who cares? He's for the war, he sounds no different than Bush, and he's the same as all the other corporate water boys in Washington DC, and the MSM is treating him like he's the second coming. Give me a break.

If this guy wanted to pull us out of Iraq, or he refused to take corporate money, or he stood up to this President or to any of the Democratic leadership and told them that this country was in the process of losing it's collective soul, I could understand what this fuss was about. That isn't the case. He's very involved in corporate money gathering for not only his campaign, but he also gave to other Democrats that were fighting a harder battle to get elected than he. He lives in a very ritzy area with other fat cats. He almost bankrupted Cleveland when he was the Mayor. He has done nothing spectacular but he's "the man". Why? Who cares? The MSM, that's who. It's making good press and the people are falling for it again. Nobody will care what it is that he really stands for until he bankrupts some of the good candidates, like Kucinich, and then we'll be stuck with him. It's just another example of who picks the candidates. It's the media, not the people. Who fuels the media? The corporate money. So for the next year or so it will be Obama this and Obama that, until the nation is all Obama'ed out.

Then we have another "wellspring of American decency"; Rep. Virgil Goode (R-VA). This piss-poor imitation of a human thinks that Muslim Rep.-elect Keith Ellison (D-MN) swearing in with his hand resting on the Koran is somehow unconstitutional, or just plain wrong. Well I'm not a Christian, and I say that laying your hand on a work of pompous fiction that is harder to believe in than Peter Pan is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of, yet I don't care if he does it, why should this Cracker Goode, care if Ellison does his thing with the Koran? What a load of crap. Nobody is saying anything about it in Washington. If I was a member of the government I would grab Rep. Goode by the back of his slimy head and wash his mouth out with soap. How dare anyone deny his right to his religious preference? We should be hearing about his removal from office. This just shows you where our nation is at with this whole Muslim thing anyway. This is just what al Qaeda says this is. This is a 21st century version of the Crusades; it's no different from the older ones, except instead of the Pope calling it, you've got a born-again wacko in the White House organizing.

Everyone is so proud of the Marines for socking it to those troops that pulled that massacre in Iraq. They are happy because the officers that tried to cover it up got charged too. They should have been charged. I can also tell you that after over twenty years in the military, there should have been more than a spec 4 and a few buck sergeants and a female General that should have gotten it over Abu Ghraib. Don't tell me for a minute that they let that hillbilly girl run around the prison with no supervision. Don't try to tell me that buck Sergeants were running that prison. That just goes to show you how damn corrupt this country is, when only a few people got charged in that giant cover-up, nobody but me ever came and said that those charges are militarily impossible. There were a whole lot of people that knew what was being done. How they got away with only charging a few lower ranking enlisted people and a female General they didn't like is amazing. This must be the same whacked-out media that is trying to make Obama President.

That's enough out of me today. I don't want to completely spoil everyone's Christmas, just because mine is so damn depressing. Maybe I'll just stop watching TV or reading newspapers or getting on the 'net for awhile until the season is over. Sure.
