This morning I saw an ad for Jules Archer’s book, The Plot to Seize the White House: The Shocking TRUE Story of the Conspiracy to Overthrow FDR. According to the history, Prescott Bush [Poppy’s father, W’s grandfather] was one of the financial barons involved in the plot to overthrow FDR and install a fascist government in these United States. Except that, in some sort of Seven Days In May twist to the plot, General Smedley Butler uncovered the Machiavellian plot and stopped it dead on its track.
Like all Bush related matters, the Bushes managed to silence this piece of Bush history... so, voilá, historical documents attesting to Prescott’s career managed to disappear in some unexplained library fire... (And, in the face of still so many unanswered questions about 9/11 my mind can’t keep from underscoring to itself, “just like the unexplained melting down to rubble of those twin towers on 9/11.)
The Bushes have a penchant for managing to push truth down into some deep, dark desk drawer; or into Plato’s allegorical cave where light never reaches and where people are kept in chains by the lack of truth and the perception of shadows.
The Bushes seem to have managed to keep Prescott’s true love for a fascist state, locked in the darkness of a desk drawer, or of an allegorical cave, or in the smoldering ashes of an unexplained library fire, far away from its reaching any sort of light about them or yielding forth any sort of revelation of their truth. Facts disappeared in said unexplained library fire where only ashes remained, giving no one the possibility of unearthing the truthfulness about the Bush Ravenous Soul. Except that, truth outs itself always, and it outed itself through those souls, unafraid to speak truth to power, who were part of that history...
The Bushes seem not to have learned that truth, like anything that is pushed down, whether it be into some Plato’s cave, or into some padlocked, dark, desk drawer, of the most repressive state, will simply just out itself. It always does.
Sometimes truth seeps out through the incongruity of spoken statements, as in the case of Poppy who says he loves America but stands by, supports, and probably runs from behind the scenes, his son’s take-over of our American democracy.
