Just when you think you've heard every possible absurdity there is ever to be said in this world coming out of Bush's mouth, something else, a new absurdity comes rolling right out of George Bush's mouth. That no mainstream media editorial has been written to counter the absurdity; that no pundit talker, or talk show host, has shouted into the microphone, "this is hell and I am not going to take it anymore," is just plain mind boggling to me. For the record: Redcoats were real men, living in real United States territory. Terrorists, for the most part, inhabit Bush's mind where you and I can be converted into a terrorist a/k/a an enemy combatant in one blink of Bush's eyes. American Patriots like Brigadier General Andrew "The Fighting Elder" Pickens; Francis "The Swamp Fox" Marion; General Sumter and others were fighting for a cause. Bush and the Generals who buy, or are obligated to buy his kool aid are fighting an ideology. The cause that Pickens, Francis Marion, General Sumter and their half starved militiamen were fighting for, was for independence from England and against unfair taxing by the King of England. Bush, and through him his Generals, the compliant Congress, the suck-up mainstream media, Bill Krystol and others who want to rule Iraq, Iran and whatever other country becomes a threat, real or imagined, to their quest for Imperial rule are not fighting for a cause. They are fighting an ideology to establish another ideology in its place. Not one of them has the genetic make-up, or the moral compass, of such men as fought the fight for independence from England back then, men who wanted to give to the colonies, the gift of independence from a despotic king. Not one of the people in Bush's column has the moral compass to question the rightness or the wrongness of Bush's ideological quest for power and control of Iraqi oil. They would stand up to Bush if they did. Just like Lt. Watada and the handful of soldiers who have stood up to oppose Bush's war have. Bush, despotically so too, takes freedom away from the Iraqi people but covers the enslaving of the Iraqi people in the shams of a puppet government which jumps, stands or sits at Bush's whimsical command. George Bush also takes freedom away from American citizens when he throws them into free speech zones, calls them enemy combatants because they oppose Bush's terror residency and throws them into Bush's own gulags, refuses to meet with those who want to question his policies or the smoke and mirror manipulation and fear planting to which he ascribes at will. Rest assured that Bush's appearance at Mt. Vernon, joined by a military guard dressed in Revolutionary War uniforms, was nothing more than Bush theatrics making an emotional appeal to those who might buy his kool aid-it was an attempt to ignite the flames of patriotism, saber rattling the drums of war past so that they would resonate on the drums of war present-it was play acting of the crassest kind from a man who has no respect for George Washington, the Revolutionary War Generals, the militiamen and soldiers who fought in the Revolutionary War; the country which emerged from that war, or the Constitution which resulted from that war. It was play acting of the crassest kind from a man who has no respect for you or me as citizens. It was play acting of the crassest kind from a man who has no respect for foreign lands or the citizens of those lands. It was a Bush maneuver, throwing, or attempting to throw another link to his chain of repression. Underneath all the pomp and circumstance it was another sad act by a delusional lunatic who refuses to admit that his ship is sinking-even when he knows that it is, or perhaps just because he knows that it is.
