"WASHINGTON, Aug. 15 - President Bush made clear ... that he was concerned about the lack of progress in Iraq and frustrated that the new Iraqi government - and the Iraqi people - had not shown greater public support for the American mission..."
Is he freaking kidding? He wants them to come out of their bombed out houses and their destroyed lives and get on board the Happy Train for him?
"I sensed a frustration with the lack of progress on the bigger picture of Iraq generally - that we continue to lose a lot of lives, it continues to sap our budget," said one person who attended the meeting. "The president wants the people in Iraq to get more on board to bring success."
Those Iraqis really need to stop thinking about themselves all the time - their destroyed cities, murdered loved ones, ruined society, massacres. It's not all about them. What about our budget, hmmm? Have they thought about that? Have they said thanks for the lower electric bills we've given them, now that they only have electricity 2 or 3 hours a day? No, it's complain, complain, complain. Jeez, try to help people.
They better get on board. Because as we all know, it's going to be all their fault if this doesn't work out.
"More generally, the participants said, the president expressed frustration that Iraqis had not come to appreciate the sacrifices the United States had made in Iraq, and was puzzled as to how a recent anti-American rally in support of Hezbollah in Baghdad could draw such a large crowd. "I do think he was frustrated about why 10,000 Shiites would go into the streets and demonstrate against the United States," said another person who attended."
What is wrong with those people? How could they not appreciate everything America has sacrificed to bomb the crap out of their country? Do they think that was easy for us? Do they have any idea how much those bombs cost?
How could they demonstrate against us? It's just wrong. Don't they know we're killing them to save them?
Just what do we need to do to get them on our side? Wipe them out completely? Will they thank us then? Honestly, some people just can't be satisfied, no matter what you do for them.
