The falling house of cards.

It began November 8th. That's the day that the not-so-well-built house of cards constructed by the DUBYA regime began its now accelerating fall. It began with the "thumpin'" administered by We The People. That event tipped the scales, and started the tumbling of said house of cards. The results of Election 2006 have also given rise to other events now shaking the DUBYA regime.

There may be some that will argue Republicans who distanced themselves from DUBYA months before the election even came to pass began the actual process. While I will agree that perhaps seeds may have been planted at that time, DUBYA still retained much of his potency. Until the election results came in, there was still the possibility, however slight, that DUBYA could have pulled some sort of eleventh hour political reprieve. That reprieve could have conceivably brought those dissident Republicans back into the DUBYA corral. It was not to be.

Following the thumpin', Dumbsfeld, the not so illustrious Secretary of Defense resigned. Or was it he was fired? There is debate about whether Dumbsfeld's loss of position was due to his own decision to leave, or DUBYA's decision to show him the door. It seems that depending upon which news source I view, there's a different take on what made Dumbsfeld walk. Yahoo News made it look like he made a choice. MSNBC makes it appear as if DUBYA showed him the door. ABC news follows Yahoo's vision. I haven't heard CNN's take on it. I am not about to tune in to Faux Snewz to hear their take. Frankly, when it comes to FN, I don't care.

The wonder of it all is that since the time We The People actually spoke at the ballot box, even more has been happening to crumble the DUBYA regime even more.

DUBYA called for numerous pieces of legislation to be passed before the present lame duck 109th congress gives way to the 110th. That has not happened yet. With only a few weeks left before the holiday recess of congress, it appears that the "do nothing" congress will end in just that fashion, doing nothing! Yes, with newfound courage, the Democrats who are going to move onto the 110th congress have decided to put their feet down in defiance.

Since the 2006 elections, DUBYA hasn't been here in the country all that much. While we are told that some of his political jaunts were planned in advance, I just can't help but feel he stayed out of the country so he could have hissy fits as far as possible from the finally prying eyes of the media.

Even on these political outings, he couldn't avoid public humiliation. The absolute best bit of humiliation was handed to him by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki of Iraq. In what I think should be dubbed, "the snub heard 'round the world," al-Maliki stood DUBYA up like an ugly high school girl on prom night. While many attempts have been made to downplay the significance of this incident, it is just another card falling from the now crumbling house of DUBYA.

The snub heard 'round the world was preceded by a document leaked by NSA Adviser Stephen Hadley that expressed doubts about Maliki's leadership. I'm not sure who leaked the info, but I am glad it happened. It most likely precipitated the snub heard 'round the world. That's a good thing.

Following the snub heard 'round the world, DUBYA was forced to endure an icy reception from Senator Elect Jim Webb. For those who missed the fun, here it is again.
DUBYA: "How's your boy?"
Webb: "I'd like to get them out of Iraq."
DUBYA: "That's not what I asked you. How's your boy?"
Webb: "That's between me and my boy, Mr. President."

Apparently, Webb was so angered by the exchange; he was tempted to slug the president. Can you blame him? His son is in Iraq fighting a war begun by a man too scared to fight in Vietnam. Webb fought in Vietnam. Might Webb consider DUBYA to be a draft dodging chicken hawk? One could infer such from the exchange above. I know I consider DUBYA a draft dodging chicken hawk.

Now it appears that a few days before Dumbsfeld lost his job, he sent a memo to DUBYA basically saying it was time to "cut and run". Yes, in another leak, we see that even Dumbsfeld knew that the stay the course strategy wasn't working. That's saying something, folks.

So let's recap. We The People spoke loud and clear on November 7th. The day after that, Dumbsfeld was out on his ear. This happens apparently after he sent a memo to DUBYA telling him it was time to rethink Iraq. Also, on the same day, DUBYA admits he and the Republicans took a "thumpin'". After losing the election, DUBYA decides to take a much-needed trip to anywhere but here. He spends some time in Asia wearing Vietnamese pajamas. Then he high tails it to Jordan just in time to be snubbed by Nouri al-Maliki. The snubbing follows a leak effectively giving a no confidence vote to Maliki. This snub is followed by an icy confrontation with Jim Webb. Finally, the 109th congress is moving towards recess without addressing any of the legislation DUBYA wants to hammer through before he has to face the 110th congress.

All of this has to be hitting DUBYA like a ton of bricks. There have been a few articles at this site that call DUBYA's sanity into question. I have often wondered if DUBYA wasn't a few sandwiches short of a picnic myself. How sane can a person be that thinks Armageddon is a good thing? How sane can a person be who thinks god talks to him? Not very.

Might the above events be conspiring to completely destroy DUBYA's mental state? The short answer is yes. If he is mentally unstable, it's a surety that if the pressure on him continues to grow, he's going to snap. I can only hope that the pressure does continue.

One way or another, he needs to be relieved of the White House. If it's certifiable insanity that takes him away, then so be it. Frankly, I think it would be a fitting end to his presidency.

DUBYA's house of cards is falling apart for all to see. I never thought I'd get to witness it. I am glad I am watching it happen. I can't wait to see which card falls next. Maybe the Ace of Spades?

Blessed be!
