Here we go again.

In October 2006, campaigning for GOP congressional candidates, President Bush frequently stated that Administration policy in Iraq is correct and did not require changes.

What has changed since October?

What has changed since October?

Responding to criticism of his policies while campaigning for GOP congressional candidates in 06, President Bush stated that commanders on the scene supported his policies and believed we had a sound strategy and sufficient forces in place.

Faced with a massive spike in the number and severity of insurgent attacks, President Bush told crowds at 06 campaign events that the spike was temporary and would not require a change in policy or more troops.

In his address from the White House on 1/10/07, President Bush stated that Iraqi forces would assume complete responsibility for security nation-wide by November 07 and that American forces would be limited to a partner brigade for each Iraqi division.

This is a definite plan for a phased withdrawal, but a withdrawal made without expectations for the Iraqis or provisions for an emergency in the field.

In his White House address of 1/10/07 President Bush laid out the most far-reaching and significant changes in policy since the invasion.
