A Disclaimer; I don't claim to be a reviewer. That said, I'm recommending that you check out Boston Legal, which has become one of my favorite TV shows.

At first, I found it entertaining, with great actors, portraying developed characters.

But, then, I realized that just about every show, there are incredible soliloquies and conversations that touch to the quick of our contemporary culture.

Golden GLobe winning James Spader does a brilliant job, as attorney Alan Shore, of voicing concerns about life today, about America and the world, often in his role as attorney, presenting his closing arguments before a jury and a ditzy judge, or a judge he's slept with.

But it's not all serious, There's a lot of humor. William Shatner (formerly of Star Trek) is brilliant as Denny Crane, the semi-senile, lecherous, extreme right wing curmudgeonous senior partner who is having an affair with a Jewish dwarf while still insisting that Spader not sexually pursue his fellow senior partner and former lover, Shirley Schmidt, who Candice Bergen plays deliciously, with humor, wry wit and vivacity. Shatner has also won a Golden Globe for his performances and Bergen has been nominated several times.

René Murat Auberjonois, who played Odo, on Star Trek Deep Space Nine, another one of my old favorites, plays anothe senior attorney in the firm-- usually a straight man to Spader's Shatner's and Bergen's antics.

Christian Clemenson won an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series, playing "Jerry" an attorney with Obsessive compulsive disorder who also happens to be brilliant, who never loses a case. He's a good friend of "Alan Shore." That creates problems with Shatner's Denny Crane, who is jealous of Shore's friendship with "Jerry."

Just about every show ends with Spader and Shatner sipping whiskey and smoking cigars, talking about life.

Check out this scene to get a feel how writer/creator David E. Kelly and his writing team express the progressive zeitgeist of today so eloquently.

This is one show you may want to add to your schedule. It's on ABC at 10 PM EST.

Give it a try. You won't regret it and you may find that you'll have to add it to your viewing of Olbermann as a regular part of your week. I usually record it to watch later.

To be honest, I started looking at clips to include with this article and I just got lost, watching one after another. So I got carried away. This article has links to five of them. On Youtube, you can find many more.

Shatner and Spader talk about racism, Obama, Hillary, McCain and Ahmina... douchebag.

Here's a great one that sums up a lot of what you may be feeling about the effectiveness of protest.

And here's one that gets to the heart of the Black articulacy issue

One on No-fly rules
