The media, Republican party operatives, and agencies of the sitting United States government, have all colluded together to commit some of the most corrupt actions of political suppression in recent history, during this campaign season. 'They' say organized crime is in decline, or dead. I say that it has simply put on more respectable clothing, and walked right into the mainstream of American life, and into our living rooms! The actions of my party, my government and of the mainstream media during the last year have blown much of the little faith I had remaining in our political system to check its own excesses.
The Republican Party is going to lose the national election (not because the Democrats are worthy, mind you)—unless Ron Paul is nominated—based solely upon the dismal way the party machine has treated Ron Paul.
The party has systematically suppressed Ron Paul in such blatant moves throughout the last year—consistently—all while Ron Paul's message was drawing record recruiting numbers into the lagging Republican Party! Go figure! The Republican Party has thus chosen to cut off its own nose to spite its face. Even if Paul should not finally achieve the Republican nomination, a great swath of his followers might still have transferred their votes to the Republican nominee, if the Republican machine had treated Ron Paul as a 'family member' so to speak, instead of like some kind of Frankenstein in the house! Now you can count us out!
Count me out!
What? Did you think you could be the way you've been to one of your own candidates, and then expect his followers to loyally support your crooked machine, after you've finished crucifying him???
There's a reason I've not been heard from since mid-2005. It is because that is when I started really waking up, and realizing the tyrannical actions being taken by the present Republican government, in the name of conservatism—in the name of America! I kept hoping, though, even after that time, that the keener consciences in the party would take a stand to check the draconian police state mentality creeping in, at first undetected, then blatantly and high-handedly! A check never materialized! Those who should have known better, seemed to be mesmerized—bewitched! I couldn't figure it out at first—now I recognize that the hypnotic influence is a vision of raw unbridled power, not unlike that which has led empires of the past to overreach until they self-destructed.
Then I discovered Ron Paul—no thanks to the media—and I hoped against hope, that Ron Paul—the voice of one crying in a desert of lost liberty—might be heeded—the only Republican voice that has given me any reason for hope, since I first woke up. Alas! Methinks I was wrong to give my party one more chance!
The government has taken part, as well, as I've described in former blog entries, even to the point of sicking the overbearing powers of our bloated and not always non-partisan federal justice system, on one who dared to mint a Ron Paul gold, silver and copper piece! That is the tip of the iceberg, however, as such visible actions almost always are. There have been many not-so-subtle whisper campaigns, as well, to insinuate that Ron Paul was a subversive, and even to attempt a correlation between Ron Paul's peaceful followers and terrorists! And it has already been shown, how the sitting government targets dissenters, such as war protesters (and Ron Paulites???), with illegal surveillance, unwarranted investigations, secret lists, and even at times trumped up legal charges.
Why the government has been so obstinate is beyond me. Don't they know that such overreaching always comes back to bite any government, eventually? Their actions in recent history have simply created a broad swath of public that no longer takes what government mouthpieces say at face value—many who are now so distrustful, that it becomes difficult to trust government even when the government is acting completely straight forward! This present government, too, has chosen to cut off its nose to spite its face.
Which brings me to the media! You would think that the most treasured possession media outlets would want to protect, would be the trust of their viewers! You would THINK that, but the corporate behemoth we call 'news' media, has sold its soul to the devil, in order to hold back the message of liberty at any cost! They used to even dispute this fact (in the earlier stages of the campaign season), and just to make a show, they would once in a while allow Ron Paul a brief basking in their spotlight—just to silence critics, mind you. But now, it seems, they don't even make any bones about how much they hate Ron Paul and the message of liberty! If they had had their way, not even ONE American would have known Paul existed, but even without their help, they saw that at times he was 'catching' like a wildfire, and so they've done their darnedest to keep that fire localized and under control, so that they might control American democracy (yes, we are supposed to be a democracy—a democratic republic—for those who dispute our democratic nature).
Again, while they may have harmed Ron Paul's ability to be known by many Americans, what a price they have paid! They have purchased their "power" at the expense of their credibility! Even many of those who don't espouse Ron Paul's political views, have noted how blatant has been the media bias, and their high-handed efforts to destroy him! Sometimes even in the debates they can scarcely hold back their biting sarcasm, and their evident demonic rage at the fact that Ron Paul stands in their spotlight against their will! They too have chosen to cut off their noses to spite their collective face.
I used to love to watch the "news", but lately it just makes me sick to watch these bubble-heads claiming to be newscasters, but who are really political operatives for an elitist corporate agenda. I've already blocked the Fox channel, and I am in process of eliminating all of their stock in my retirement portfolio. But in the near future, I will probably begin saving a bundle of money, by eliminating all of my paid media services. Yes, ALL!
The reality is that I am not alone in this attitude, and even if Elephants do forget (like Republicans have forgotten the Bill of Rights—some Donkeys, too), I can guarantee that Ron Paulites and their sympathizers will not forget this treatment by the corporate media, or which companies stood behind the manipulative treatment so unbecoming to "news" organizations.
