A Circle of Violence

Turning the war around is the goal of George Bush with his escalation of troops into Baghdad and other areas of Iraq. Turning around is a circle of violence, leading to a beginning that never ends-relentless Shock and Awe. And shattering loss.

The fingerprints of Bush/Cheney doom us to world scorn. Their footprints condemn us to despair. A damning and catastrophic failure, the Bush Presidency is a metastatic cancer-of the soul.

Six months into his first term, George Bush was receiving poor reviews. Concerned more with running and physical fitness than domestic and foreign policy, he was considered to be unprepared for the demands of office. Along came 9/11. Bush grabbed a megaphone, hugged a few survivors at Ground Zero, and did what any person in his position would do, yet he was hailed a savior by many. And he believed the hype. Energized by what his baby ego must have been telling him and handed absolute power by a nation afraid, Bush moved to conquer. Visions of a New World Order danced in his head. He spoke. The masses believed. He said WMD. The peopled trembled. Those who took issue were dismissed and discredited.

Now, after almost four years of a conscience-searing war based on multiple lies, George Bush is continuing the same course of deception. A self-promoter of mass delusion, a tough-talking, cowardly, warrior wannabe, the engine that couldn't, wouldn't, didn't, and never succeeded at anything but f**king up, is dooming more of our young and Iraqi men, women, and children to bloody deaths in the streets of a country leveled by lies. Meanwhile, Dick Deferment-after Deferment Cheney is seldom seen but never far from the ear of George.

Each troop death diminishes us. Each death of an Iraqi does as well. Each pool of blood, spilling into the soil and sand of a country far away is my blood and yours. Look in the mirror and every window that you pass and see the dead and maimed. And don't just blame George Bush and his criminal administration. We are all complicit in this betrayal of humanity. We are all responsible until we do what is necessary to stop it.
